Breadtop - Hawthorn (Glenferrie)

They have lots of nice cakes, not too heavy. Plus many other breads, sweets are tasty. Love the Hongkongnese style Mille tea.Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Items on par with other locations but the service was atrocious. I’ve never seen anyone look so miserable. I probably won’t be back until they ditch the plastic bags for paper though, so wasteful.

This bakery is a hidden gem near Glenferrie station. It is 100% recommended. They made me love donuts all over again. I stopped having donuts in Melbourne for 4 years, but then I discovered this place. I have been searching for donuts like these for a long time. My mouth melts as soon as I bite into it rather than other bakeries/petrol stations I have been to which are spongy, artificially colored and smell weird. During my break, I walk 15 minutes just to get some of their soft and delicious donuts. There are several things I recommend, including their tiger swiss rolls, donuts, creamy chocolate roll, and spicy chicken pie. All of them are well-baked, smooth and soft, smell great, are fresh, and taste great.The bakers' magic recipes are worth every penny and minute! Thank you!

Bread completely fine BUT the inside tasted weird.

Terrible experience. I have been a good custumer of Breadtop and I was very excited when I heard that the franchise was coming to Glenferrie Road.Last Wednesday afternoon ( it was a sunny afternoon) I purchased amongst other things 2 Pork Floss Spring onion buns.When I tried to eat one of them an hour later I noticed it tasted very sour.That night I had an upset tummy and felt very nauseous.The following day I returned the 2 items and spoke with the manager/owner.He told me that the mayonaisse inside the buns was the reason the buns were sour and the cause of my upset tummy.I told him that the buns were positioned in the store near the window in the direct line of the sunlight.The troubling thing is he said he was aware of the issue and an awning has been ordered to solve the problem.If you are aware of the problem why do you continue to put the dollar $ ahead of peoples' health.He offered to return my money for the 2 pork floss buns.He showed no empathy with respect to my being unwell.
