Department of Home Affairs - Entry via a pre-arranged appointment only

Tried to call and help my employees with student visas gain clarity to their employment and trying to do the right thing with following their changes in rules and regulations. But the rep over the phone was not helpful and kept shouting out certain documents for me to refer to, with the attempt that I'd second guess and just hang up. I had already read through everything and there was no clear category in their terrible website, no one likes being on the phone with call centres, lets be frank. Thanks for making things so uncertain. It is like they try to get people to break the law. Absolutely disgusting. As soon as he started shouting, I knew he actually didn't know the answer to my question. Train your staff better.

My experience is great. They are strict - but for a reason and dont take it personally.If you’re coming here for an citizenship appointment, dont come in too early or late. If your appointment is 8:40-9, come in 10mins before. The officer will inform which appointment times are allowed to come in. They only allow people jn 5-10mins before your schedule.Only those who have appointments are allowed inside, so make sure to have someone with you if you’re taking kids or partner to look after them. Dont loiter by the door.The experience was a breeze for me. The moment they let you in, you need to sanitize, get your number in the terminal, wait for your number to be called, get interviewed and take the test. The entire process from entering the premises to stepping out only took 15mins max.The people working there are doing their jobs, period. Dont expect to be treated special or expect them to run errands for you. Ive seen people asking them to hand over coffees to their friend inside or insist if kids can be taken during appointment. Follow what is written on your appointment letter.Treat them with respect and everything will be smooth. The security, interview and test personnel were efficient and professional.

Extremely lean and easy process. Friendly and professional staff. If you take the citizenship test, just read the testable Our Common Bond and do practice test from Immi website, nothing else. If there is a question you haven't seen during practice, just use best judgment and common sense. Best of luck!

Worst in the world, wanted to attain mother's funeral but refused visitor visa two times, this god like people knows the future that i am staying there forever i am employed in technical company with good salary and i submitted all proofs but still shows I don't provide sufficient supporting documents, my leave latter my bank statements what else you want, she also writes she is not satisfied with overall economic circumstances in India what they know about India and if my whole family is in Australian citizen it's their mistake to be there, just write a Claus 600.211 not satisfied and that's it, just remember all of you have family as well and i wish youall have to go through thia situation as well and God made you feel that how and what you are doing with people, i can't attain funeral just beautiful of you all, just worst

Processes for the citizenship interview and test are very smooth overall. Just do not come earlier than 10 minutes as you cannot enter the building until it is almost time, meaning you have to line up and wait outside the entrance. There's no seating nearby while you wait other than a single bench.

Just witnessed 3 members of your staff smoking outside your building and were literally standing next to a bin with a cigarette disposal top & all three people dropped their cigarette on the floor! Unbelievable. Representing the government. Embarrassing and should be ashamed. Should go pick up all of the cigarettes on the floor outside your building. Littering

I submitted certified tax documents with more than 13 their thousand dollars monthly income and several bank statements with more than 40k of their, what they erroneously call dollars, savings - to those incompetent, arrogant and illiterate “authorized scammers” and they still refused my visa on the grounds that I did not have enough funds. My granddaughter is expected to be born in Melbourne soon - so it is primarily a family visit. Her parents, btw, are Australians. I treat this refusal as a personal insult. There are a lot of grammar mistakes in the official reply they sent. Who (what, to be more precise) does this office employ? There is definitely something wrong with this country. And, finally, why should I want to remain there as they claim? There are a lot of much better and friendlier places on this planet. The name of the scofficer is Naparinthasit with the position number 60166716. Unfortunately, Google policy does not allow me to use the words that come to my mind to describe that decision maker.
