Melton Recycling Facility

Always come here to dump my rubbish, the prices are reasonable compared to other tips. Although the wait times can be horrible, it's worth it because the tip is close to home.

Need to pay to dispose of green waste. Free only towards the end of the year. Green waste should be free all the time as cannot fit much into the green bins.

It used to be good, luckily l only had cardboard yesterday 12 cars waiting inside, then l thought l will come back in morning because of the long wait. Well I was wrong to turned up at 8am to be sent back home because it was closed, due to wind and told to call later to see if they are open, which l did but no one answered so a total waste of a day was going to do the tip run then go out but had to leave all the stuff in my car till tomorrow morning l guess. Plus other times l have been the long waits are bad expensive to get in then sit there for a hour, with only 3 bays open, when I think there is 9 all up. I think they need to upgrade there facilities as melton is a lot bigger plus we cater for hillside area and a lot more.

The Tip is a great place to get rid of unwanted rubbish both General waste and Recycling, the staff at the entry are always friendly and on point with assisting you and pointing you in the right direction.Once you are in the Tip area there are different section for all different types of Rubbish ( Greens, Cardboard, General, Battery's, ECT) This makes it much easier to get to where you need to be and drop off your Items.The staff in the rubbish area are always great at helping direct people to nearby areas for certain items and are always willing to lend a hand with heavier items as well as assisting in moving smaller items to the relevant area.

Awful place. You wait 40min to pay but they don't tell you there's a huge queue and another 50min wait around the corner. Then there are the people cutting in and dumping stuff anywhere to get back out. A lot of frustrated people. They could atleast warn people of the wait before you pay. Absolute waste of time.

Good initiative from Melton council for recycling collection where one can bring their own items and dump at the site rather than putting on nature strip. The only issue is the cost council is charging. It should be free and need more staff to maintain the facility. The location is convenient.

Flat tyre after passing the wood pile with green waste, suggesting better house keeping by the fascility and warning signals would help those less experienced patron. Thanks.

UPDATE: As of 2023 has improved to tolerable operations. Updating from 1 to 3. Still has some room for improvement but OK to visit now.Useless, even by council standards.Not once have I made a trip here and not had regrets about it. Multiple times have I turned around and simply left to go elsewhere because the facility is so poorly managed. Expect massive queues (1hr plus on any day at any time) and staff that could easily be replaced with signage which would actually be more useful. Management clearly holds no qualifications or has any experience to run the facility competently and the person in charge should be sacked immediately, however they probably got the job through a friend so I doubt anything will ever change.Best to avoid, even if it means a longer trip elsewhere. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Visit the facility today at 4pm and the dude at the entrance is super friendly and the lady who assigned my slot is is amazing too, would give 8 star if google allow me
