Sunny Hill Distillery

My girlfriend Emma and I had a wonderful experience on Easter Monday at the distillery. It was a quiet afternoon and upon sitting down the owner Sam sat down to answer a question I had made at the bar.1 and a half hours later we left after having chatted about gin, vodka, whiskey and world travels. Thoroughly good experience.As for the venue, it's wonderfully isolated and comfortable. The grass outside looks great.Staff were friendly, passionate and enthusiastic. A big thumbs up to everyone at the venue.

This is a great hidden treasure on the Yorke Peninsula. We had intended to drop in for a tasting early in the week but discovered it was closed. However, while at Barley Stacks winery, we discovered we could do the vodka and gin tasting there. So later in the week we arrived at Sunny Hill having already tasted their excellent vodka and gin and ready to taste their liqueurs. We tasted the limoncello and loved it but unfortunately they were out of stock. We also enjoyed the coffee and chocolate liqueurs and bought both as well as the dry gin. Mick made us feel very welcome and guided us through the tasting and told us the background and history of the distillery. We had a very enjoyable visit.

There on a Saturday at lunch time. Just 2 of us but were still looked after by friendly staff even though there were some large groups there. The build your own cheese platters were a bit expensive and confusing.Really just need say fixed option A and B for example plus just a few more food options but yes understand it's not a restaurant. The place is neat and tidy and the inside toilets are very nice. Great views outside and we'll be back.

An amazing view to taste the treats of the distillery ( and a couple of local beers)Unique Australian whiskey (first batch amazing), great wheat vodka and an Australian version on the traditional London Dry Gin - very nice.

What can I say - a true hidden gem on the Yorke Peninsula. I absolutely love Sunny Hill Distillery. I recently visited again with a large group of friends (19 people) and was very well looked after. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Lovely location, has a really relaxed vibe with a big grass area out the front. Plenty of parking for cars and buses. The food options are limited to platters but the platters are still delicious and you are able to bring a picnic. All of the drinks I tried I enjoyed and the testing board are a great option. Will definitely return.

Sadly their first whiskey is still two years away (I’ll be back then) so it’s just vodka and gin for now. But still a lovely spot away from the normal busy places and well worth a detour for the uniquely flavoured vodka and an awesome view over the wheat fields.
