I was referred to Maxima in 2019 through UTAS. The consultant that I was placed with seemed initially enthusiastic about getting me placed in one of a few volunteer positions at local museums that might have given me a leg up in finding work after graduation. After about 3 weeks of no follow-up I started calling and emailing trying to get some idea of how things were going with no response. For about another three weeks I called and emailed, sometimes 5 times a day. Each time I called I was promised a speedy response by staff that never materialized. I even went into the office at Glenorchy Plaza several times with no response from staff there either.After months of this total failure to communicate I was finally able to set up another appointment where I was again promised the possibility of some great volunteer positions and was given a date to meet with my consultant where we would be able to talk to the volunteer coordinator at TMAG. I showed up on the agreed time and waited over an hour before being informed that my consultant had cancelled the appointment without bothering to inform me. I went back to calling daily, trying to arrange another meeting but after about a week of this my consultant left Maxima to take up a position at another disability employment service.Overall my time as a client for Maxima was probably one of the most degrading and humiliating experiences of my life.

Maxima is a wonderful team to have behind you if you are looking for work. The team in Glenorchy have been very helpful and eager to help, especially Akash.
