The new updates are great. The new access to the main pool is good with both stairs and a ramp, also the ladders as before. The waterslides are a hit with the kids and the kids pool is perfect for my 4 yo.The hydro is also a good spot for swimming with younger kids who may prefer warmer water.Pool generally not too busy in the mornings. Can get a lane or share with 1 person. The afternoons are busy with learn to swim and other users.Weekends are good with BBQs for parties.

There are numerous facilities here. I attend the Aquafit classes which are held here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9 am to 10 am. This is a great group of ladies and a fantastic way to get fit. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Kids rum amuck. There is no life guard supervision on the slides, so the kids push in, run down the slides, and stop themselves halfway down the slides so other people can't go down. Best to go to the beach and risk being eaten by Crocs or stung to death by jelly fish than use this pool.... or there are plenty of other pools around Townsville.

Fantastic facilities and excellent customer service. Heated pool for the cooler period and rehabilitation. Water slides for the kids and specific baby and toddler pools to make it easy for the parents. BBQ is available for a great lunch and is topped off with a good tucker shop for ice cream with the family. Great day out for everyone.

All the lanes including half of the only open lane are always closed due to training and lessons. Not the best when you are paying full price to swim in half a lane. Toddler pool is okay for the kids and the slides are open till 5pm. Heated pool is always in use until 5-6pm as well. Would be nice to consider the public who want to swim in the public pool when training seems to be the focus. I understand training is important but with 7 out of 8 lanes of a 50m pool being assigned to just training until the pool closes, and half of the remaining lane being for afternoon lessons, seems a little weighted more towards a training pool than a public pool. Just my two cents to what is otherwise a great pool

Don't bother going in the afternoon, they over-book the pool which is only 2/3 utilised and tell you can't swim at all. If you ask the staff when a good day is, they will tell you Tuesdays and Thursdays, and maybe Fridays, but definitely call first, unless it's one of those days. I asked in person, as I was already there and was told 'tomorrow will be fine' - Only to find that on the day, no, you can't swim due to PLANNED works, complete with a printed, laminated sign that the pool was closed. They could have mentioned that the day before, when I asked, but, to be fair, I wasn't clear when I asked if if the pool was open, and available tomorrow. I don't say this lightly, it's the worst run public pool I have seen, in 78 countries, and 41 years. I would give it less than 1 star, if I could. In summary:Great facilities (you can't use them, don't even ask)Friendly staff (will tell you whatever you want to hear, true or not)Ridiculous pricing ( Apparently families are 1 adult and 2 kids, if you have 2 adults, and 1 kid - you know, the bare minimum to actually procreate, you are 1 family plus and adult.)
