Just a quick shout to give anyone out there looking for an amazing CAD workstation with best in class customer service I genuinely and thoroughly recommend the team at Central Innovation. I bought one of their IC3D workstations about 3 years now and I just could not be happier with my purchase. It really has been an absolute workhorse and a pleasure to work with. In fact it’s my most valuable business asset. Since I run my own business and I only have a small team (3 people) I do find I almost constantly need the extra speed, the extra horsepower and the extra functionality that comes with a top spec station. I can regularly multitask by running Solidworks (multiple parts and assemblies), Microsoft (around 10 tabs), Corel (a lot of major graphics, packaging design, photo editing etc) all at the same time and also be running/rendering/editing a video or rendering some new images on “Visualise.” For me if you are looking for extra performance and to save business time and money (less waiting) I’d definitely recommend you look them up for a quote. I’ve had several “normal” workstations in the past but to be honest they simply don’t match the speed and reliability of IC3D. In addition to the overclocked processor on my liquid cooled hex core I also find my 2x M.2’s plus decent graphics card are an absolute delight to work with. Lastly, (depending what you are doing) if you are wondering, as I originally did, whether you might accidentally be buying a Ferrari but then drive it in the slow lane well for me I can honestly say this is certainly not the case. When I go to the task manager I can regularly (most days) see that I’m running the entire thing (RAM/CPU/GPU) at 70% or above….and very often at 90-100%.....which for me is a clear indication it’s being used (a lot!). The thing really is so unbelievably quick that I rarely (if ever) see the sand timer any more. There’s literally just a very subtle flash (milli second or so) and docs are saved. Even though the original purchase price may be higher than a standard workstation, 3 years later I am personally finding it has saved me this time, money (and late nights!) 1000 times over and it looks like it will last many years to come. Of course they have a full range of options and every machine is individually customised to your needs so you can really put your cash to best use by choosing a spec that will fit you’re requirements/usage the most.
