Had our yearly motorhome roadworthy completed by City Gates Automotive today. Extremely happy with the price and service. Will be back.

rude and incompetent. Told me my power steering pump is leaking, I was going to pay hundreds $ to fix it. Lucky checked by someone else and they said no problem with that at all. the leak was from oil filter.

The team at City Gates Automotive is amazing! I had a warning light come on on the dashboard on my drive from Cairns back to Brisbane and they were able to fit me in on extremely short notice.They went over everything and even had a team member rush to pick up a certain part (although it was already outside their business hours), just so I could continue my trip South on the same day.They could have easily charged me a lot because I was in a tricky situation but instead their rates were extremely affordable and they didn't even want to accept a tip for their incredible service.To top it all off, I even got a call the next day to check whether I had made it safely to Brisbane without any further issues - which I did!Definitely give these guys a try when you're looking for a great, honest mechanic :)

Had a 2nd hand radiator fan installed in my car. Was told by the mechanic that it was faulty and that I needed to go to a auto electrician as there was another issue. I gladly paid the bill then booked into the auto electrician. I then had to pay an auto electrician to tell me nothing was wrong and the fans worked fine. I would not have given them such a bad review if they had not ignored my emails. I just wanted to let them know what they did wrong. They obviously do not care that I was out of pocket due to their mistake.

I had a negetive experience when I used this company for what should of been a simple safety certificate for my camper. (We had already spent money on our camper ensuring it was roadworthy). Since the obvious stuff was done - The owner tried a few different methods to get extra money out of me for unnecessary work - admitting that the inspection fee of $40.05 (set by the government) wasn't worth it to him. ...If I hadn't informed myself I would of ended up with a much bigger bill - the transport department fortunately helped me out... After my declining the unnecessary services the owner warned me to 'hide' certain things on my vehicle from the Trans. Dep. and that he would need to lie saying and say that we made these changes to our camper after he issued the cert - so he didn't have this 'come back on him' ... This was more BS to try to get us to pay him for a 'measure' which is free if done at the Transport Dep. ....sooo There was nothing wrong with our camper and had no problems registering it. ...in the end the bill was still over $100 including unquoted repairs that in my opinion were questionable. But I feel I got off easy after speaking to others who have been ripped off by this dodgy company.

Awesome service, went above and beyond what was asked for. Trust worthy and did their best to make sure we were happy. If I was staying in Mackay they would be our regular mechanic!

My husband and I were in mackay having a baby and our car played up on the drive to hospital. Called the guys at city gates automotive and they went above and beyond and had it going so we could take bub home even though they were due to close within the hour!
