Entry dishes are good but not amazing. The flatbread is nice.Fried chicken burger has good quality but not worth $26 for a burger. Pork belly has good flavour but it’s over fried that the meat is tough and pork skin is chewy.Cocktails we ordered are very watery somehow.Overall it’s not the best the Korean fusion cafe I visited.

I’m in Brisbane visiting family this weekend. I was staying in Chermside and decided to try “The Gunshop Cafe” at Westfield Chermside.I chose a table near the door which was a mistake because of the cold air flowing through it.The ordering process is via a QR code-initiated website. It was simple to use but a little confusing. It wasn’t clear that “egg” meant a pair. The eggs are small, so getting four instead of two wasn’t a problem. The mug of cappuccino made with skim milk was quite frothy and tepid.I asked for poached eggs on sourdough toast and asked for extras, viz., mushrooms, a side of hollandaise, and an extra egg which turned out to be a pair. The breakfast comes with a roasted tomato. The sourdough was dry and difficult to cut with the knife. The poached eggs were warm (about room temperature), the white was hard and tough. When cut, if too much pressure was applied with the knife yolk spurts through. If you weren’t cautious, yolk could spurt onto your lap. If the knife was sharper or serrated this problem could be ameliorated. The outer parts of the yolk were hard while the inner parts were liquid. The tomatoes were pretty solid. The mushrooms were firm and cooked nicely. The hollandaise sauce was cold.

First visit here was alright. The Szechuan chicken waffles is a great dish idea. My chicken was a little dry and bland in parts and the avacado was smashed past the point of being able to taste it. Waffles and eggs were nice the szechuan oil was delicious. Fresher ingredients and this would of been a top tier meal.

We were invited in like friends on our first ever visit. The lovely waitress with short blonde hair and red glasses was outstanding! She made us feel comfortable and welcomed and showed us pictures of the menu items. I ordered the Korean and chicken and waffles by her recommendation and it was delicious! Highly recommend. Coffee was perfectly strong. Really enjoyed our visit here this morning.

My partner and I used to frequent the West End location of this shop and were delighted to see that one had opened up closer to home so we had to check it out. We always left the original location very satisfied and came in to here with high expectations, and let me say that this place easily exceeded those. The staff were incredibly attentive and the service was impeccable, a special note goes to one of the Staff Anna who made recommendations on the food and was a wealth of information whilst exuding hospitality charm. Moving onto the food, there were so many good options but it's great to see a store lean into some more uncommonly used flavours like Szechuan, the spice was balanced well with everything else in the dish and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back to check out their lunch and dinner menu.

Cannot recommend. Coeliac's beware. And do not use the QR Code system to order!First of all, Gunshop cafe's QR code ordering system has been hacked & you'll have unauthorized transactions taken from your bank account. Fortunately for me, my bank is very vigilant & called me while I was at the cafe & told me about the transactions. Though my card was then cancelled.Secondly, I'm a coeliac & always order everything GF. I specified at the counter when I had to order manually, that I need GF toast & the meal GF. I was served a lovely looking meal however it was NOT GF - it was served with sourdough bread NOT GF bread.I suspect the young lady taking orders didn't have sufficient English to note GF, although that was not very obvious at the time. OR she made a terrible mistake.Thirdly, a large fish bone from the salmon pierced my gum. Not my lucky day.Meal presentation was good but the hollandaise sauce lacked flavour. The coffee was good

I've been here before for breakfast but didn't know they also opened for dinner in the later half of the week. We didn't have a meal but instead had a couple of beers and nibbles. A plate of sliced meats with bread and pickled veg and olives. The halloumi was fabulous. Very attentive staff and tasty food. We'll definitely be back.

The chips were good.An attempt was made of a steak sandwich ($28). The steak was in segments about chicken-nugget sized, some of them edible, some not. The choice of a ciabatta roll instead of normal bread made for a lot of bread with nothing to go with it. The chips were dusted with rosemary a la 'Grilld' and were quite nice. The soft fried egg was an interesting choice and covered everything in the yolk once pierced. My eating companion had the chicken burger and didn't feel that the Korean-style deep fried chicken was a good fit for a burger. Again, a soft fried egg coated everything when peirced.Other than the strange food options the atmosphere and facilities (a full size bar for example) would lend itself to being a great place to meet.I feel like maybe the place recently changed management or something - other reviews seem the polar opposite of what I experienced and the menu options Google are asking if I recommend were not on the menu.
