Bargain Car Rentals (Launceston)

Have utilized just about all the car hire business around Launceston Airport. This is the best both in terms of economy and their staff are absolute gems. From the arrival on a late delayed flight at knock off time to a delayed return my fault. I was treated with respect and humor. Car was as advertised.

Upon reaching Launceston Airport, I left a voice message at Bargain Car Rentals and a car was promptly sent to pick us up. The rented car, a Nissan XTrailer was in good condition. There was a small incident during my holidays and I managed to speak to somebody from Bargain within reasonable time. The drop off at Hobart Airport was very efficient. I am happy with their pricing as it is indeed cheaper than their competition.

Dealt with Hobart bargin car rentals in relation to one of their customers causing an accident with my car. Didn't get new replacement parts, only second hand parts with paint on it. And still have to have a window strip fixed as the repairer could not locate one. Disappointed as to how things were handled.

Great experience with Bargain car rentals. Online booking system was easy, no extra fee for driver’s under 25. Airport shuttle was fantastic and easy. Car was great, no issues. Had a newer vehicle with less than 20,000kms on it. Only wish you didn’t need to wait so long on hold when calling customer service line.

The price for car rental was very easy, people were nice and location convenient, however 2 weeks after returning the car we still don't have our bond back. After one week I called to follow up and only then did they release it supposedly, we're still waiting for the money. I'm sure if we didn't chase it we would have never received it!

Unfortunately, we arranged everything with a 3rd party, we really should have organized directly with Bargain. Nora was amazing. She gave us advice and was very helpful. Connor had very good tips about Tassie too. If all the employees are like them, it’s a wonderful team!Thanks guys! Keep it up!

Car ready and waiting for us; smooth handover into the car when we left, and when we brought it back. All pickup/return done over the internet so very easy. Tasmania car hire is crazy expensive, but these guys were pretty competitive on cost.

Everyone we met at the Launceston depo was friendly, warm and understanding! We had a couple of snafus that could have ruined our holiday--a crack in the windscreen and a personal item accidentally left behind, and every step of the way Bargain Car Rentals were gracious with their support.I had a beautiful MG with less than 2000kms on it and it drove like a dream. Easy pickup and easy return. It should go without saying that when renting a car in Tasmania you must get the $0 excess insurance as you never know when the poor wildlife will acquaint themselves with your grille or a vehicle in the opposite lane might fling gravel right into your windshield.

Unfortunately the company do not ensure a full tank. We picked up a car late on a Sunday night & checked the exterior & then the fuel gauge. Only close to full mark & range advised 600klm. We filled up 3 times on our journey & each time registered over 810klm range when full. 200klm @ 10 litres per 100km av fuel use for a large 4wd we had made 20 litres short when picked up. At close to $2 a litre, that was a $40 shortfall. Not good enough. Customers that do the right thing are penalised. If you don't want to question customers or check the fuel gauge when cars are returned then at least fill up the tank properly for the next customer.

TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE!That’s how I would describe dealing with Bargain Car Rentals my my worst ever experience with a rental car company, pre booked a a vehicle at Launceston Airport in March 2023 when I picked up the vehicle it was nothing like we spoke about on the phone. It was almost a five-year-old base model, Hyundai, with high kilometres and a terrible smell and completely unsuitable for the purposes, I told them I needed a vehicle for. Took the car back after 24 hours they charged me two days rent instead of one and had to make different arrangements with another rental car company to get something decent to drive. I would never recommend this company to anyone I would rather walk or ride a pushbike then deal with this company again.
