Lara and the team were superb. My boat was in disarray after Covid and the rain.They picked it up and delivered it back in a far better state than I Imagined:They kept me informed the whole way and the costs came in as about expected.Can’t ask for more than that.

How about a review from someone who isn’t an employee or relative!Their website clearly states they can do major repairs including fibreglass and anti fouling and polishing etc. After providing a comprehensive email with a list of the works we wanted done, Lara was in constant contact and assured me they had set aside time to bring our fifty foot vessel in yesterday and have it lifted and commence works to do crack repair and gel coat restoration and antifoul. Upon arrival (and after travelling two hours with a leaking hull) we were directed to tie up and meet with Dan- who came out and told us they don’t have the facilities to do the work and they were too busy with new boats coming in. He was rude about it and his refusal to take on the job was in direct contrast to what we were told. He wasn’t even remotely interested in taking on the work (which is obviously his right) but the lack of professionalism was vulgar. He actually used the line “we don’t have the facilities to do repairs on fibreglass, what do you want me to do; build a bloody shed just for you”. This revealed a lot about the company. Very un-businesslike and grossly disproportionate to the circumstances considering the works had been arrange beforehand.The arrangements were made with utmost clarity and then to add insult to injury, Lara didn’t take my calls or reply to messages when we asked for an explanation. This company made it very clear that they will grossly inconvenience customers if it suits them. They demonstrated a disgusting attitude towards customers (without provocation). This wasted four hours and plenty of fuel but to mention the utter disregard for us moving a boat with hull damage. They’re not working in favour of the boat owner. They work only to a bottom line and if another customer is an easier dollar then they will put that dollar as a higher priority even if it means it costs the customer.Anyone can leave a nice review and commend nice manners or a great antifoul but the true test of a business and it’s staff lies deeper. I wouldn’t recommend any business that has such an obtuse view of customers and cause such inconvenience without so much an an explanation or apology. The fact that they can’t even face the customer when they make a mistake is really a disgrace and reflects on the deeper character imbued in Short Marine. It’s as if they believe they’re too good to even address the issue. There are good people who want to do business with good people and Short Marine comes up short. You’ll be left short and they certainly are very short on ethics.Short Marine. Perfectly named.

Recent purchased a boat from the team at Short Marine. I couldn’t be happier. I was a distance from Sydney so getting down to Sydney for sea trails and trailer build weren’t possible. I cannot thank Lachie enough for helping me out with all the details made the whole process very easy.

My dealings with Short Marine, was the experience I really needed after being let down by another company.Reece and the boys from Short Marine, not only were quick to offer a solution to damage caused by Luci (a Gold Coast boat detailing company), but went out of their way to sort everything for me, from their daily communication to anti fouling, detailing, dry dock, boat in and out, I simply left it with Short Marine and hardly recognized my boat upon completion, it was as new !A true credit to the owners and staff of Short Marine, a truly professional company !

To summarize both my wife and I are delighted with the service we received from Short Marine. We have been cruising the world since 2014 and are currently in Turkey. As my wife was returning to Sydney this year to visit family, we took the opportunity to buy our new chart plotter whilst she was there.I will say this. Originally we emailed five, (from memory) perhaps six Raymarine Agents in Sydney and surrounds and received a prompt reply from Short Marine with a prompt followup. Only one other agent replied. As disappointing as that may be for Raymarine it reflects very well for your organisation.In the dealings I had with Isaac (mainly) and Grant, emails were followed up promptly, solutions and options were offered, questions answered and explained and the difficult process of transacting from the other side of the world made easy.The requirement for a deposit before ordering was also waived as an acknowledgement of the ongoing difficulties we had had with our eS 128 being previously replaced five times under warranty and then failing again, was greatly appreciated and made it much easier for us.When my wife turned up in person to collect the new Axiom she was genuinely delighted with the way Isaac received her and his offer for us to call him any time from anywhere via WhatsApp if we needed any advice or guidance installing the Axiom or if we had any issues. We couldn’t have expected or reasonably asked for more.So thank you to all your group that we dealt with Sam. We really appreciate the service.
