Not much to do, apart from getting on to steam paddle boat and enjoy the ride.Can wine taste and also do the chocolate tasting. Got some really nice local wine. Has nice resturants around, good food. People are sweet, they help you around.

Great look into Australia'searly past.. Paddle boat steamer rides, coach rides. Nice town on the banks of the Murray River with lots of cafes, restaurants, bars & shopping. Easy walking on flat pavements

Port of Echuca Discovery Centre
The discovery centre is a one top shop to experience Echuca. You can learn about the history, see artifacts, and even access the boat rides. Echuca is a beautiful port city. I felt as though I had been transported back to the old days with the big model steam engine, the puffing steam paddle ferries and the clippy clop of the horse driven carriages. I enjoyed learning about the history of Echuca and the importance it played in connecting the Australia outback with the urban cities. Don't forget to click a photo at the end of the discovery centre where it marks the two sides of NSW and VIC.

Beautiful place to visit. The staff were so nice and friendly! It was great to have such friendly people to greet you, we even had a good laugh together. Jenny and the gentlemen with the well groomed beard , sorry cant remember his name were so helpful and we had a good laugh you dont see that kind of interaction anymore . Well done to u both you made our day....

I love Echuca! My partner's hometown and I'm in love with the place. Beautiful and historical area. There's also wine and chocolate shops here. Pet friendly too.

Nice little place to take the family for some paddle steamer history. There's table and chairs and BBQ facilities next to the river.

Brilliant day on the river. The discovery centre had heaps of things to do while we waited for our steamboat, the Pevensey. 100% recommend

Port of Echuca Discovery Centre
It was a lovely experience learning about the history of Echuca and paddlesteamers here. Lots of interesting information and displays. The Centre also hosts a nice view of the Murray River. Entry is free.

Great museum. Plenty to see. Enjoyed the one hour informative tour. The guide was excellent with an engaging manner and plenty of understanding of the history that answered the question 'Why Echuca?' Book for 11.30 or 1.30. The afternoon tour appears the quieter of the two. Plenty of souvenirs available. The museum has three entry. You can also book Paddle steamer rides here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed the Port After Dark lantern tour. Well led by the guide.

History of the place fascinating. An to realise virtually all began with thought of ex convict. Always find it peaceful relaxing place to stay.
