Had a great day at the Darling Downs Zoo! Keepers were very knowledgeable. Our son did the meerkat encounter and had the best time with the meerkats climbing all over him.Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it! Not many options for food unless you like pre-packaged pies and sandwiches.

I have been several times and I'm impressed to see this zoo expanding. With no government funding, Darling Downs Zoo relies on public attendance and donations to expand and upgrade as required. Their animals are part of breeding programs and appear quite content. It's amazing to get up close with so many different animals - we've fed zebras, llamas, emus and kangaroos, and have been able to learn more and even touch juvenile snakes and alligators. This is a little gem for our region, and they're doing a great job with conservation and education.

A great soo to visit. Lots of animals I have not seen before. We did not stay for the feeding and information provided by the staff but wish we did have. The gibbons were awesome. The vocals show they put on was memorable. So many tortoises perfect trip.It was very hot the day we went and the pathway is rough so water and good shoes is the go.

You can't really compare to other big zoos but it's a nice little family run business which seems to be growing. The family enjoyed it on our road trip through the area

A nice drive from Brisbane/Ipswich. Make sure to get there in time for the first animal talk, then follow the zoo keeper around to hear about and see the feeding of many more animals. Keepers are friendly and informative. Zoo is compact, well maintained and had a great family feel. Felt pride in supporting a family/small community business. Animals were well looked after and there was more of a variety than I expected. Definitely worth a visit, can easily spend half your day here.

Easily the best zoo in the state in terms of number and variety of animals including lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, giraffe, maned wolf, capybara, meerkats, lemurs etc etc. Animals are well looked after and zoo keepers talks are entertaining for adults and kids. Make sure you get there before the zoo keeper talks start at around 1015. Sausage rolls and pies at the cafe with cold drinks available and staff are friendly and helpful. Tickets $115 for family of four.

Wonderful for a casual day out. It was a lot of walking uphill but well worth it to see the amazing animals that they have there.

Such an amazing Zoo with a great vibe. Nice drive from Brisbane and a great spot to spend your day or half. Recommend reaching around 9:30am, grab your coffee and get ready for the guided tours. A great opportunity to see the animals up close (as not crowded) as they are fed and kids have so much fun watching them eat. Lion, tigers, cheetah, Giraffe, Hippo, Meerkats etc. looked happy and engaging. The tour finishes around noon so right time to grab lunch (and another coffee) and enjoy some sun in the nice picnic area while kids can watch the snake as the zoo keepers bring them out.A fun day at Darling Downs Zoo.

Nive little zoo that's growing at it own pace. Out of Brisbane 2 hours drive, the mountain road a bit of a drive, but once on the open plains it easy drive. The zoo is still growing and lots of animals to see.
