The Rumours Are True have ruined me for traditional hairdressers! The customer service is excellent, they truly care about you and the health of your hair.Coming here is the luxurious experience you deserve.I recently attended one of their workshops and it was so informative and fun, everyone in attendance was so friendly and that’s such a testament to the amazing culture that Loz & the team have created.

Hands down the BEST hairdressers in Melbourne!! I have been visiting the team at The Rumours Are True since December 2020 and will never go anywhere else! Since my very first appointment I have never left the salon feeling less than a million dollars. I never felt like I was leaving a salon with the type of hair I really wanted until I stumbled across The Rumours Are True. The service is amazing and the team are always very honest about what can be achieved with your hair goals. I usually see Lucy and she is an absolute queen but on the odd occasion I can’t see Lucy I’ve also had the pleasure of having my hair done by Brooke, Jules, Cass and Pam. Who have all also been exceptional, whoever you see your hair will be in the best hands.

I have been seeing Lucy at The Rumours are True in Newport since May 2021 and it’s the best my hair has ever been. I love the style (short & wavy) & she’s brought out the best in it. I look in the mirror after 6 weeks and think it doesn’t really need cutting but I go anyway because it’s such a great overall experience. Everyone in the salon is lovely & I’m always greeted by name. I would highly recommend Lucy and the salon.

Made me look and feel amazing! Best salon experience, best hair colouring and the loveliest staff! They brought me coffee and a cheese platter while i waited for the dye to do its thing. I cant believe the colourist was able to work with my current colour and highlight my hair to look completely natural, without colouring over my grey hair. My hair looks sun kissed and natural. I get so many compliments on my hair after visiting The Rumours are True. At the start of the consult, all i asked is they keep as much length to my hair and fix the colour and they completely blew me away with the results. My hair is long, luscious and has so much more life. i highly recommend letting the experts do their thing!

While it may be legal, their uncompromising stance on withholding the $50 booking fee to reschedule outside their 48 hour timeframe is alienating. They are rigid and show no initiative for fair and reasonable adjustments to their ‘policies’. It’s a business model that leaves you with the same feeling you get when the parking meter has 1 minute left and you still get fined.

I have been going to the salon for about 5 years since they were around the corner from me in Flemington. When the new shop in Newport opened, I did not hesitate to travel a bit further. The new salon has such a lovely vibe.I have had my hair cut, and highlighted by many different stylist’s and couldn’t pick a favourite as they are all so good! Every time I am so impressed and leave feeling SO good! Highly recommend!

The staff here are all incredible at what they do ! From the moment you walk in, you are made ro feel welcomed and at home in the salon. The staff will always discuss your needs, which is standard practice, but what makes them stand out is they offer you a service based off your price range. If what you would like is out of reach for your budget, they will discuss the next best option. I LOVE THIS! During my treatment/service I was spoken to many times on what was happening ,and if I was comfortable moving forward. If a price variance was in order this was also discussed. Honestly, so impressed with the salon. I don't often go which is my own undoing, but when I do, I always leave wishing I had more time and commitment to maintaining the beautiful work they do for me.
