I’d give this a 0/5 if I could. Clinician was rude, spoke over me for almost the entire call, yelled at me and was actually quite mean until I told her I was recording the conversation then you can hear she started being a bit nicer. She tried to diagnose me over the phone, refused to believe my real and diagnosed illness and tried to diagnose me with something else which has already been proven wrong, and she admitted she is only a psychologist. She said my mental health was basically my fault, when I said bipolar is genetic again I was wrong apparently. When I said I was suicidal she told me to meditate, I explained I can’t as it hasn’t worked which she responded by saying I’m not trying hard enough. I was extremely disappointed by the way I was treated and spoken to, I do not recommend this service to anyone especially if you are suicidal as they may leave you feeling worse. I ended the call feeling disappointed, not cared for and quite sad. I wasn’t listened to, I wasn’t treated with dignity or respect, I was yelled at and accused of being abusive for simply crying. There is very little good mental health support for the public in queensland which is very upsetting for myself and others.

Got sent this number by beyond blue, lady from BB was lovely but the person I spoke too was disgustingly rude and unprofessional. I relapsed and was asked if I had 'taken a cold shower' for suicidal thoughts and SH and that they couldnt do anything for me. Had to go on a goose chase too find some help. Disgusting dont waste your time!

Rate this place as 0. We were referred here by an NDIS Support Co-Ordinator. They offered no assistance whatsoever. We had to endure over 4 hours of sheer hell with our brother whilst trying to process and grieve our father's passing. They just told us to call someone else. Complete waste - what are they even there for.

Awful service with awful people. They would rather tell over the top of you and belittle you than speak to you and help you. It's all about the power they have over you and what your response is to the abuse you receive from them. If you respond to them abusing you then they turn that around to you being the one who's abusive. They make your mental health worse and justify their power and control and abusive ways by making you to be the reason for that. A mental health service should never make anyone feel like that, they should nevertake anger out on a patient. This mental health team are awful and are just there to take anger out on people and not help the patient in any way. Just prove themselves right and by doing that, they have killed people. It's disgusting

Absolutely terrible services and a huge waste of time and energy.Even if you are able to clearly elucidate your challenges and their drivers, they'll still send you on a merry little game of incompetent referrals to a half dozen different clinicians with negligible handover for you to repeat your story. Maybe at the end you'll get any of the help you need. The clinicians expect you to have far greater presence of mind, organisation skills and especially EQ than they do.They'll razz you up like any abuser then tell you to calm down when you ask to be escalated to someone with a bird's eye view of available resources.Honestly, I can't imagine anyone who needs help coming out of their clumsy, incompetent intake assessment without being worse off.CSU are great.Logan acute mental health are a friggen joke. The HOTT shrink Gold Coast poked and prodded against my warnings until I was suicidal, then they just let me drop, walked straight past me sobbing in the parking lot.I've improved & stabilised since then *because I blocked them from interfering*.If you want to help people, help them.If you're sick of dealing with angry people, handle them better.

I feel this service is a waste of time. There is alot of talking but no real action. People in crisis need action not people standing around lecturing you on strategies that you need to develop for the future. Once your crisis is resolved then we can start building strategies. People in stress don't have the ability to think straight nor learn!!! My own experience was a new pain medication that made me suicidal. I needed a doctor to diagnose this and then change it. But all I got was number for a psychologist in a couple of weeks time. I stopped my meds after getting advice from Google as it was no existent from the doctors. Within 12 hours my crisis was over!!! So much for waiting 6 hours to see the crisis team. You can learn more from Google!!! I also found their staff rude except for one gentleman who was an advocate, the clinical teams has no idea.

Disgusting place. I've been told if your well enough to ask for help you don't need it' and 'do you just want to come her for some TLC for a few days?' after suicide attempts. There is no help available."

Writing review on behalf of someone else. Called acute care team (on a Sunday) and was met with and answering response of “Hello” and nothing else. Had to tell name and reason of call without being asked. Was quite unprofessional throughout entire call. Said that mental health person will call you back through blocked number “very soon”, turned out to be over an hour later. After receiving call back, answered and then hung up on opposite end after 1 second. Very lucky this wasn’t a life threatening situation.

When we are as fragile or depressed as we need to be to call ACT, what we DON'T then need is someone (presumed to be helping us) having a judgemental or 'bullying' manner.I've experienced it several times and while it seems I'm shooting myself in the foot ... ACT is very, very unlikely to be on any list to call for help - no matter how bad I felt. The ranking of 1.9 does not reflect the central tendency of ACT rating. It will go lower. I.E. Many more people have had bad experiences than those who have had good. A couple of 'outliers' of 5 Stars, boost the rating-number above ACT merit. (the number would be much lower)QUESTION: Were there good people from ACT? Of course there were: many of them unique in care, and remarkable in their sincere desire to help: Those qualities however cannot escape the culture of 'Them and us'. Them means us - those needing help, and 'Us' are those who can help ... but strictly - STRICTLY, and then, only on on their terms.

Not much has changed over the years, Gold Coast public mental health is a disgrace and a disasterAlso was told by a clinician from Pccs drop in centre that he was going for a job as the“ boss” of the accute care team and he also happened to divulge to me that he was a diagnosed phsycopath and did not possess the ability to cry or feel any other emotion other then angerI made a formal complaint and have not been back sinceNot aware if he became in charge of accute care after all ?I know I wouldn’t be comfortable knowing that the accute care head honcho was a self confessed diagnosed phsycopath???!!!
