Bikes 4 Life

B4L is a great charity that collects donated and abandoned bikes, repairs and improves them, then ships container loads of them to remote communities in areas of need across the globe, from outback Australia to Uganda.They also leave the containers behind, set up as bike repair and maintenance workshops, and train up local recipients as bike mechanics.So Bikes 4 Life not only addresses immediate transport needs, for individuals and communities, to such places as schools, and water sources and more distant places of work, but also trains up others in the work of bike repair and maintenance, so that the communities long term bike needs can be met, and individuals can make a living with that work.

Re-building bicycles and shipping container loads 1/2 way around the world to Vietnam, Uganda and who knows where next, to be donated to their people to provide the simplest and most essential form of transport.What a great group of people! They are taking used bicycles out of the hard rubbish from partner city councils and private donations and giving new lives to people who are in need.Do what I did and give a hand!
