Pholis Gap
The walk starts at the Rummery Park sign. Unfortunately the track to the Pholis Gap lookout was closed today (maybe because of recent heavy rains in the past couple of months?) however, we kept going and did the Matherson Loop which was gorgeous (~1h walk from Mt Nardi Carpark)

From the carpark to pholis gap lookout is fine. Great untouched rainforest 10/10 giant trees and great views. The lookout itself was overgrown and unimpressive (relatively speaking compared to other points of interest nearby). the reason I give 2 stars is the return trail from pholis gap lookout to the road is completely overgrown. Don't go that way but instead return the way you came (back up the stairs past the big trees. instead of doing the loop back to the road. If you go the full loop I recommend a machete, full covered clothing and perhaps a chainsaw

Pholis Gap
A short but steep walk with many stairs in a mix of sub tropical rainforest and eucalyptus. Great views of the Tweed caldera and marks the start of an informal trail to the Sphinx rock (not a walk to be undertaken without real preparation).
