On the 27th of January I had a booking for a birthday gathering at your establishment. To my disappointment you were out of numerous dishes on the menu. No meatballs, no calamari etc. Our servings of bread were burnt also. My group left hungry and disappointed. For a Friday night and a booking that was made in advance this was disappointing. Not to mention the place was empty! We waited an hour to have our drink order taken. We were only asked once. My group only had one cocktail each. Then I received a cosmopolitan in a scotch glass as they ran out of glasses. Table service apparently! If we wanted another drink we had to go to the bar. By this stage we were the only people on the premises. As we were leaving I mentioned to the wait staff it was disappointing on a Friday there was no food. Then one on your very rude kitchen staff laughed and smirked in the background at myself and my group to my dismay.Overall a place that used to be exceptional has now become somewhere you certainly wouldn’t dine. Birthday ruined!

Slow and confused service, and terribly overpriced food. We paid $36 for pasta that had the texture and taste of tinned spaghetti. A memorable experience only because much of it was so comically bad. The 2 stars are for the steaks and greens, which were the only decent things we ordered. There are many other much better and more affordable restaurant and pub options in Thirroul worth visiting over this restaurant.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining here before seeing a show at Anita's Theatre. Only a minutes walk away from the Theatre. Lovely outdoor ambiance with heating on cooler days. Food and staff were fab. Loved the grazing platter to start.

Great location near the beach and was very accommodating for our large group. We ordered a variety of dishes like gnocchi, steak, spaghetti, rocket salad, veal, garlic bread, calamari and haloumi. All the dishes were reasonable in size but the prices were on the high side.

This place is amazing! Highly impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Our host for the evening was Bambi, she was very polite and attentive. We ordered the crabmeat linguine which was absolutely delicious and the trout was cooked to perfection.

The service was excellent and the young lady who served us is an asset to the venue but unfortunately I can’t shower as much praise as other reviews. The tapas menu looks great on paper and at an average of $15ish dollars a portion you expect to get really high quality dishes. Whist not bad quality, there isn’t much to write home about. There is also some inaccuracies with the menu. The menu states Kingfish Carpaccio, which is thin slices of meat, however, what was delivered was basically thick cut sashimi style. Still, a nice cut of fish but not what was described on the menu. The Moroccan Meatballs had the consistency of store bought sausage meatballs and the sauce was just a basic tomato sauce; no real Moroccan flavours to be found. The prawns were tasty but three for $18 seems expensive on a per prawn basis. We ordered two mains to share. The Squid Ink Linguini with Crab and Zucchini, and the Grilled Spiced Smoked Tofu.I was worried after I ordered the linguini and the table next to us seemed to have issues with the same dish. There was some conversation with the waitress that didn’t boost our confidence. The resulting dish was swimming in a really watery squid ink and it made for a slightly unpleasant experience. Squid ink is normally used to colour the pasta or as an accompaniment for a base sauce. It really felt like you were eating pasta that fell into an ink well. The crab meat was also applied sparingly, which was disappointing for a dish with a $36 price point. The Tofu was nice. Very hot so not for faint of heart if you don’t like chilly. The XO sauce was too heavy on soy sauce and too light on sherry. It was basically slabs of tofu in a hot soy sauce; it just lacked refinement.Let’s finish on a good note… The drinks were really nice including cocktails and some very nice draft beers and the sourdough bread was really tasty. In conclusion it’s a really lovely location and hopefully we just came on the wrong night or ordered the wrong things because I would love to go back to this funky bar/ restaurant.

Absolutely loved this place. Great creative seating arrangements. Gorgeous outdoor eating areas with gas heaters throughout. Easily fit groups of 50+.Staff were energetic and courteous...not your typical, doing job on side, waiting for shift to finish already, attitudes. They all seemed really happy to be working there and it showed in the level of service they offered. They have live music and great specials menu options. Plenty of street parking available in the area. Loads of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options too. Will definitely be back!

What an improvement on the old Jose Jones! The food is incredible in comparison, and there are lovely attentive staff. It is a great addition to Thirroul, and very convenient they have dog friendly the outside tables. They could do with a longer wine by the glass menu (a few different rosés for example), but overall a fantastic experience. Thank you!

Dined out here tonight with some friends & have always wanted to go here. We were beyond happy with the service, drinks, food & atmosphere. Our server Tash & our bartender Sonny both took such good care of us, the boss was so genuine & overall the staff were what made our experience more memorable. The location is a massive bonus. Highly recommend 5/5 :)
