McGowans Falls
This waterfall is magnificent, but google directions appear to be wrong and you should not attempt this after rain without a four wheel drive. The roads are unsealed Forestry Roads, very narrow -making it nearly impossible to turn around and with some in a very poor state. Go only via the Main West Takone Road !!Relapse Creek Road by which this waterfall is reached, has a sort of ski jump followed by a mud slide about 1 km before the falls. Doubting that my heavy van would make it back up, I turned right after the falls, to look for the Link Road which Google had advised me to to take the night before. This had trees meeting overhead so low not even a normal vehicle would have made it through, and soon ended in a swamp. Just as well I walked that bit before driving in. The road that goes straight ends in a T junction. The right fork is a dead end, the left fork end in a bog you would never get out of.As to the track to the falls. That is generally well marked with pink tape. Small section past a rock face has rope to help you negotiate - not too difficult, not too long and a lot leas scary than the road in.Some type of warning sign NOT to turn right coming out of the falls and a bit of a parking/ turning place BEFORE that last hill would be really, really helpful.

McGowans Falls
Another stunning Tasmanian waterfall. A relatively short walk to the top of the falls but take your time and lots of care getting to the bottom.Definitely worth the effort if you have good balance and a head for heights.

To get to the top of the waterfall is fairly flat but very muddy, to get to the bottom you have to climb down some rocks and some steep slippery hills, much worth it though

Really beautiful place. Waterfalls are always great, this one has a short and sometimes steep walk to get to them. Worth the effort.

Didn’t get to the falls, the road was a graveyard for cars that didn’t make it back from this forestry access track, this is not a road for cars only 4wd

One of the best waterfalls in whole Australia! A must visit place if you're into Tasi. You won't regret the short trail off the gravel road if you're a true nature lover. Walk through the jungle is so scenic and refreshing. It is just a one hour drive uphill from Burnie city centre. Better if you have a SUV or a vehicle with a good ground clearance when you drive into thick forest with narrow alleies.

Absolutely stunning.... climb to the base requires a certain fitness level, very muddy at the moment also requires really good boots!
