Kath Nielson Park
Beautiful little park named after my mother's mother - A.K. Nielson. She was a stalwart of the community teaching Sunday School at St John the Divine Anglican Church and serving as President of the local QCWA branch for many years as well as serving as Divisional President of the QCWA. She was a foundation member of the St John the Divine Guild and the Burnett Heads QCWA circa 1945. She was the Woongarra Shire Council Australia Day Citizen of the Year in 1987.Kath Nielson was the eldest daughter of Cos and Annie Mooney who owned Gaeta Cattle Station ( north of Gin Gin) and she married Garvey Nielson who ran the local dairy and went on to be coxwain on the pilot launch at Burnett Heads until his retirement.

Such a lovely place to walk / ride as it's got pathways all the way from Bargara to Burnett Heads. Lots of tables along the way to stop and have lunch or have a drink. 10/10 would recommend
