Gelato was quite nice but price was a shock. $12.75 each for two scoops in a cup -$25.50 total for two cups of vanilla. Sent 15 year old to buy while I held dogs otherwise would not have paid that much.UPDATE following owner's reply: The cafe was closed to the public when we purchased the gelato and orders were only being taken from the alleyway. I understand the need for surcharges, but I'd politely request the business add the prices for gelato and any surcharges in a prominent place on the website. When I looked at my bank account when I got home I immediately checked the website and could not find any such information. I also called and left a message but never received a call back. Also, the menu posted on the website states there is a 10% surcharge on public holidays. We didn't come on a public holiday. Regardless, even removing the 10% surcharge that's nearly $23 for two cups. And I was not on holiday. I was helping my elderly mum who has lived in Inverloch for over 20 years.

We visited this café in the middle of our camping trip during cold, rainy, and windy weather. Despite the unpleasant weather, the café manager and staff made our night amazing and unforgettable with their kindness and empathy. Their warm hospitality was truly remarkable and turned a dreary night into a memorable one. We highly recommend this café and can't thank the staff enough for their outstanding service.

The mango sorbet was nice and had a great mango flavour.Sadly, that’s as far as the experience goes in terms of enjoyment. The line was quite long and in the heat which was fine. I’m happy waiting for something that is worth the wait.I looked up the menu online while waiting, the flavours seemed amazing. Although after being in line for about 20 minutes with 2 young children, there was only a very small selection of flavours. Even the ones on the board, which you notice when you are basically at the front of the line, were sold out. After waiting that long we just ended up settling with whatever was left. I wouldn’t have waited if the flavours left were visible from the line and updated. Felt like a bit of a waste of money and time.

I don’t normally do this but this needs to be called out. We originally came to this place after a big lunch for their gelato, as our Google search suggests. But it turns out there was no gelato and hence the kids went to another place to get their gelato to avoid disappointment. The adults stayed on to order coffee, cake and 3 affogatos instead. Their affogato costs $16 each by the way, which is the cost of a meal already. However we didn’t mind as we wanted to try them. While waiting outside on our tables, the kids came back with their gelato on hand. Then one lady staff stormed towards us abruptly and told us off with a loud voice saying that we’re not allowed to bring any food from outside and eat them in the cafe. Even our 9 year old was told that he’s not allowed to be in there while the parents were waiting for their coffee! Though we totally understand the point, however I thought the way she said it was totally rude, showed no empathy, very disrespectful and absolutely lacked customer service skills, not even a little consideration to a kid. People around were looking at us which was totally embarrassing.Oh and by the way, our order took ages to arrive. When they finally came, our order was stuffed up. They served up the wrong affogatos and the one coffee was missed (even if the order was taken down by the cashier). This has been a traumatic experience to our family who only wanted to enjoy the day. I’ve seen that there were same situations that transpired here months ago according to reviews. Hope this can be rectified and nothing like this happens again to their future customers.

My go to" place for coffee and dessert after having lunch around Inverloch's main strip. The service is good and the gelato always hits the spot. Was really nice when you could order this and sit in their backyard and just relax. Went back recently and they've since moved the gelato to a take away counter and closed off the back area. Nevertheless

My favourite cafe in the area (they’re licensed too!!), go-to coffee in the morning and the fresh salads made every day are my favourite! They also have the best freshly squeezed juices and egg and bacon rolls! Plus they have delicious gelato too

Thank God there is somebody open for a decent coffee in Inverloch ( read very decent ) add to this a good selection of coffee incidentals with all the sweet creamy goodness. If you are travelling this way Cafe Al Mare is well worth the stop.

Best ice-cream in Invy - locally made delicious flavours, cones or cups - anything salty is good for me - salty caramel or peanut are great. Jen loves macadamia and honey comb - honestly one scoop is enough. Most importantly this place is clean and well managed. Prices are 3 stars but thats what u expect for the best

Great spot, friendly staff, and yummy food. Had a freshly baked croissant. They have several cosy areas to sit, and look on the street, they also have some cosy tables out the back. Perfect. Highly recommended.
