have stayed here twice now and has been a great experience on both occasions. Reasonably priced, rooms are always tidy, staff pleasant, great facilities, and a fantastic pool and communal dining area.Would definitely recommend to any traveller looking to stay in the northern beaches area.

The hostel's location is the best. 50 mts away from the beach and bus stops that take u to the city and the northern beaches as well. It's a clean hostel, especially the bathrooms. Rooms are a bit small, so u have the feeling of being a bit tight in there, but the atmosphere at the hostel and the beach nearby make it impossible to stay inside the room. Would def come back if I ever go to Sydney again.

I spent 2 nights with my family (2 children + husband + brother) in January 2013. The room wasn't clean, it smelled bad. People smoked in the internal terrace opposite to our room, so we got smoke inside the room. There was a party on the second night which wasn't very loud, but next morning the place was a complete mess with cigarettes and empty bottles all over the terrace. Nobody from the Hostel seemed to care about it till the time we left at 9am.

Used to be a wonderful hostel. Nothing to complain with the service and staff (great people and great effort for everything). The problem is that this hostel is falling apart. I was here the first time in 2003, then several times again in the years. Never an improvement, never something renewed. This was my last time. Owners, please don't waste such a gem and his great potential!

lady receptionist who ignore me on purpose when I am standing in front of the the front desk to I ask for help to check out.(I have politely asked 'excuse me are you free') but she just keep looking at the front computer as if no one is there and never bothered to even tell me she is busy. Her indifferent attitude and poor customer service is unbelievable and disgusting. She looked pissed off and unwelcoming.I booked for a 4 bed dorm but they gave me a 6 bed dorm insteadI have been to numerous youth hostels in Australia and this one is the worse experience I have.Smelly room, my bed is not properly made(are they even cleaned?), no power point or wall electricity socket outlet to charge my phonedespite the good reputation of YHA hostels, this one is a huge disappointment and bad experience. Stay away from it people.

It is perfect and simple. Close to the beach and everything else. Friendly, clean with rules but no nonsense ones. Secure parking, swimming pool, big kitchen and dining area, TV room, lounge room. A maze of happy carridors, a lift to 1st and 2nd floor, veggie garden in atrium, clean sheets and towels. Good night's sleep - what else would you need?

Over priced for an ordinary bare room with an even more ordinary bed and thats all that is in it. No wifi in Rooms not a table not a bench just nothing. Staff dont leave dishes or cooking utensils in kitchen you have to go downstairs ans for them . Has a carpark they charge you to park in. Probably the worst room i ever rented by far just ugly! Very sad !

The staff are very friendly, location is fantastic... close to lots of shops and restaurants and across the road from the beach. Unfirtunately quite a lot of noise from other guests in the hallway and outside at night and early morning, especially young kids, which makes it hard to sleep... not so nice anytime but especially after driving 10+ hours that day. Overall a good place to stay if you have a tight budget.

Dirtiest hostel in all of Australia for sure. Kitchen and common rooms were filthy, 2 out of 3 toilets in the ladies room were clogged and obviously dirty for at least 2 days, still were this morning after the cleaning" person left. As someone who has worked in hotels back home I just can't understand
