The work David Birks did on my property was dangerous. He took 14 months to install a different system to the one i paid for. He demanded 90% payment upfront 'to purchase equipment' he didn't use, and neglected to give me a contract. The ground mount rack pitched forward within a few months of having panels attached. Birks refuses to discuss it let alone repair it. The battery system was incorrectly installed - causing an overloaded circuit - the oven to come on immediately and permanently ~ even though the appliance was off ~ Birks dismissed it as 'a pilot light', refused to fix it, then he left! The copper water pipes had become live ~ I was being shocked touching shower taps, the garage door and randomly around the house - Birks refused to test the battery system, saying the shocks had nothing to do with him. The Redback system didn't work at all - ever. I had to get Redback to tell Birks to fix it - they sent him out 3 times to fix it, he made me wait weeks for each visit then refused to look at the obvious issue and test the Redback System. It was mystifying. Birks wouldn't act on my complaints of electric shocks, huge constant power drain (and bills) that started the day he installed the system, fobbing me off dismissively.I was electrocuted in the shower and opening the garage door for 9 weeks - until I paid another electrician to test everything. He found the pipes, the garage doors live with 240volts, the oven circuit overloaded, and the fault clearly was the Redback system. He uninstalled it, making my house safe again.David Birks has refused to refund any of my almost $19000 and has blocked my phone.He has been reported to the Department Of Fair Trading and told them he would negotiate a refund, but hasn't made that possible and he has offered nothing. He now has the Redback battery system powering his own home!Be wary of this man ~ he also uses the name 'Residential Solar'. He seems really nice, super friendly, and totally agreeable ~ until he isn't. When I have attempted to confront him while on my property, he changed into a very scary man and I feared for my safety, backing down. Trying to confront him over the phone, he argues and denies everything, usually repeating 'You have no proof' and 'That didn't happen'.It all did happen and I do have proof. I also now have security cameras installed because I am scared of this man's anger and what may happen as a result of pursuing legal action. It's been a nightmare that has gone on now for 23 months.Better to use an electrician who has pride in their work, ethics and an appropriate duty of care ~ David Birks of, Birks Solar and Electrical and Residential Solar is not that.

This is a horrible business. I have not recieved any order confirmation or response from them them after multiple emails and phone calls. Do not purchase anything from their website, as this business is a scam
