Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Surry Hills

We stayed at the Adina as a family group. The staff were very friendly and efficient. When we arrived there were no locks on the windows, and this was a problem due to having two young children. Within an hour of reporting this to reception there was a member of staff fixing the problem, which we really appreciated (please do this preemptively to other rooms). We also loved the pool and spa area, it is a lovely place to be in the heart of Surry Hills. I note from previous comments that there is a refurbishment planned, and I think this would make a very solid and well run hotel really fantastic. Will stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 night, great location close to public transport. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed apartment and it had everything we needed.

We used to love staying at the Adina 10 years ago, but it has steadily gone down hill. The rooms are never properly cleaned, everything is tired and worn out. We literally stayed in a room where A BUG HAD BEEN TAPED to the fire alarm to block one of the LEDs. Hair in the bathtub, stains on furniture. No water pressure in the showers, broken air conditioners.We are giving up on the Adina Surry Hills after giving it way too many chances. This is not a 4 star hotel anymore. Not worth the money, even with the great location. Complete lack of cleanliness on our last visit was that final nail in coffin.I don’t like leaving negative reviews publicly but we have privately shared feedback with the hotel on several occasions and nothing has been improved. People should know what to expect for the money they are charging.

We were staying at this place a few weeks ago and very disappointed. It is not a 4+ star hotel. We had experienced all kinds of issues and the staff wasn’t helpful esp Ben. Our room key cards weren’t working. Had to go up and down 4 times to get it reset and fixed and still wouldn’t work and the staff blamed us that we must’ve locked the door from inside and as per the front desk lady there’s no way the key would work if the room is locked from the inside. She was very confident that it’s our fault. Ridiculous!! Eventually they figured out there was battery issue and they fixed it. We tried locking the door from inside and opened with the card key and it worked. The staff wasn’t apologetic for the inconvenience or wasting so much of our time. We were a group of 10 people and had booked multiple rooms and each of us had horrible experiences. Would not recommend staying here.

Very poor service from front of house and Manager. No stair access (I cannot use lifts and have NEVER had any difficulties with using stair access anywhere in the world) my room was in second floor and staff member would not use the lift and then open stairway door for me.Happily moved to new hotel- who assisted with stair access. Adina is off my list for good now.Management reply below is incorrect. I escalated this on the day and “the Manager” said NO.

Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful especially when the senior member of our group injured herself Lakshey was in attendance to patch her right up.Thank you for the memorable experience.

Great location and decent enough room. The rooms were mostly clean but old looking. Beds were quite comfy though. I’d stay again because it’s convenient.

Nice tidy apartment, location is perfect if you’re travelling around the city. Easy to find. Air conditioners were too loud to use, couch was a bit uncomfortable.

My family and I just spent nine nights at the Adina Surry Hills. I'll cut to the chase and say it was disappointing. Here's why:1. As many other reviews have said, the rooms are tired, dated and in many cases falling apart. We had one shower door coming off its hinges that we were told to 'be careful' with as it runs off the hinges on the regular (what?).2. The decor, in particular in the bedrooms, is cheap, cheap, cheap. The larger of the bedrooms had a 'king bed' that was two singles pushed together (seriously?). The bedding was a shambles, including the extremely cheap pillows and the duvet covers that didn't seal, revealing the polyester and quite unclean duvet interior (gross). Suffice to say we didn't sleep well.3. The hotel boasts a ton of 'greenwashing', including what they call a 'green clean'. I can promise you there is nothing green about it. It's a euphemism for a cursory, barely there clean. I repeatedly complained that the room was covered in dust, not cleaned before 3pm (despite explaining twice that I have two littles ones who nap at 2pm), and left in disarray on the days it was actually 'cleaned'. I was told by the manager they would 'try' but couldn't promise anything. On the second last day their best effort was to offer a second vacuum at, you guessed it, 3pm, right in the middle of the kids' naptime. Well done guys!4. Other reviews have mentioned this, but the hotel service may as well be self service. The staff in every realm appear untrained, disinterested and only vaguely trained in hospitality. Not once did I have any sense of someone in charge during my repeated attempts to address the gaps in service.The best thing about this place is the location. And having looked at Surry Hills alternatives, there are plenty within a short distance, I know we will be looking elsewhere on our next Sydney trip.
