The BOX on the Water
Great location right on Ettalong Beach with views out to Pittwater and Brisbane Waters. The menu is varied and delicious. The service was friendly staff were friendly and efficient considering the restaurant was full. While we found it a little noisey The Box is definitely a spectacular venue to kick back, relax and enjoy a great dining experience.

Overall a great experience!We came before and found the food was better this time, service was great and cocktails were good.Will definitely be back and would recommend for a long family or romantic lunch with a view.

Really good service. Good wine and cocktails. Great views. Recommended to book ahead on a n or day if you want to sit inside as can get busy.

I got coffee and food at the take away section. Coffee was good perhaps a bit to bitter, the tacos were delicious.and of course the views are devine.

I will start off by Saying that our waiter/server was Ben (Who was fantastic)The vibe, the view, the spacing between tables ....was fantastic, picturesque and very well placed.We were a group of 13 people and we did have some double ups of dishes.Goan fish curryCame with spiced rice, which was nice. However, it was barely warmThe flavour was lacking, not very flavoursome, the cream was overpowering and took away from the flavour. Goan curries are known to be spicy a 2 month old could have breastfed this curry and wouldn't have complained.The fish was also over cooked.Moroccan lamb shankThe lamb shank came with cous cous, a yoghurt sauce and a Moroccan bean, nut something mix....it was lovely, however the shank was under cooked and the sauce, rice and shank were also barely warm.The crispy skinned duck breast.Was a very simply presented dish....one would think that when you read duck breast you get the whole breast however this only came with 2 slices yes they were a bit thick but it's wasn't the whole breast....for a main it was disappointing in terms of size.....it was very very small. But the taste was on point.Potato rosti (wild mushroom)Very very small portion. Lacked flavour, very very oily (seemed that it was refried more than once (burnt on the outside)Tuna tartarA becautifully presesnted plate. (As were the rest) the flavour was gorgeous. However really lacked a creaminess. I stole some Aoli from one the ther kids and the dish was now pure perfection! Wasabi mayo/garlic aoli/ even some Kewpie Mayo would be a perfect addition to this dish.Pork bellyJust heaven! Honestly the perfect crackle and seasoning and so hot when it came which was just yum.Kids mealsChicken strips.This was very well portioned however the grilled chicken had no flavour and they were a bit tough.PastaA good sized bowl, which was perfect"Fish and chips"This is the best fish and chips ever!"Overall the service was great the vibe was great but the food unfortunately didn't have the same standard when it came to taste and appropriate heat."

We had satisfying group lunch when we visited Ettalong Beach on recent Sunday. We ordered some of their entree, main and dessert dishes to enjoy. The highlight were the baked camembert cheese, fish & chips, and the Goan fish curry with biryani rice. The dessert chocolate lava cake was quite nice as well. Please note that you have to order at least 2 courses for each person at weekend lunch / dinner time.The atmosphere / ambience of the restaurant is very nice since you got to enjoy water-view of the Ettalong Beach in front of you while having your meal. The place is quite spacious and nicely decorated as well. The customer service from staff members were good as well since they would try their best to accommodate our reasonable request. Prices on the menu are quite premium but expected from such fine-dining experience in a premium tourism spot like Ettalong Beach. You can pay with all credit cards with no additional surcharge - top customer service policy.

Second time dining at the Box on Water to celebrate milestones and achievements with the family and it was a very pleasant experience.We were greeted and seated window seat with water views. The staff accommodated with no hesitation in changing our seating request from outdoor to indoor as had been raining during the morning.We had the two course for $55For Entree, ordered the Beetroot Cured Kingfish and it came out beautifully presented, so fresh, delicate, melt in mouth, so good.For main, I had the Frederico’s Paella served on a paella pan, it was not shy on the seafood or spice. It was absolutely delicious.The Box beer battered flathead which I have ordered take away from their Kiosk several times is one of the best fish and chips, I’ve had, Light & Crispy. Probably cheaper to buy at the kiosk and have by the beach if dining in was not an option.And the Baked Vanilla cheesecake was heavenly with its light creamy texture.The waitstaff we had was attentive and food came out pretty quick.Dine 30 Apr 22

Fabulous restaurant based on the foreshore overlooking Botany Bay! The A la carte menu is a must, food is delicious and well presented! Food menu is limited but has a good drinks menu. You can dine inside or outside! It can be windy outside. Awesome service! Fine dining & waterfront, simply the best to celebrate any occasion! Booking is essential, as it’s not a big restaurant!

Wonderful lunch today with friends from the city. What a gem the box on the water is. The eggplant dish was delicious. Always busy on weekends but always a great place to soak up the summer sun and enjoy great food thank you to the team who served us.

Had the grazing feast which was just ok and had a few issues. The dishes didn't really go together but separately they were alright and while the broccolini was nice as it was, it was described as meant to have been charred. I don't understand the large serving of iceberg lettuce with 3 shavings of cucumber and a lot of dill.Service was fine. Pricing was expensive for what you got but I think you're mainly paying for the view which is lovely on a sunny day. Unlikely to go again.
