The Old Schoolmaster's Cottage on the Barrington River

What a great stay! We were here in July 2020. Gardens were recently landscaped,and a new ducted a/c had been installed. Such a fantastic spot. Beautiful, peaceful, and cosy. Loved the fire. Jenny made sure it was all in good order for us. Highly reccomend it!

Need to slow down and recharge your battery? The Barrington River outside Gloucester is your answer. The Old Schoolmasters Cottage at Barrington East is the perfect locale for a peaceful sojourn. The house is old with the flaws of age. However, the owners have installed all the mod cons you need (think aircon in summer and open fire in winter). Only a short drive from Gloucester cafes and supermarkets, yet a country hideaway. Outdoor activities abound in the area. Don't feel energetic? Stroll down to the picturesque river or simply relax on the verandah with a cup of tea (or glass of wine) and admire the garden and farmland views. The cottage is well appointed for self catering. Perhaps best of all, mobile phone coverage is limited so you can really relax and unwind!
