Great view that would have been better if there were no fires about.

Tracks for all levels of ability, well signed and graded. The riders are usually very accommodating to runners and walkers, as long as you stick to green tracks. There are toilets down the bottom, and the creek is good for a swim after rain

We rode First Turkey last week for the first time. The trails were so well maintained and there was something there to please any mountain biker. I loved the signage, there was never a question of where am I?" when you came to an intersection. The park is pristine

I am an ebiker with a physical disability. I can ride a bike, recently completing the Hidden Vale epic. The green trails are far from green. I fell many times, I hurt myself and ruining the rest of my holiday. I looked up the Australian MTB rating standards and the trails here are far from the Aus standard for green trails. The grading system is designed for riders to choose trails based on their ability and a trusted rating system. The trails today were rough, edge of cliffs, steep, narrow and irregular, all against the standard for green trails. You are risking a law suit unless the trails are re assigned.

This place is fantastic. Very well laid out and maintained and signage is impeccable so you never lose your way. Cactus is the best flow trail we've done in Australia and well worth the climb to lighthouse hub to ride it to the bottom.

The trails at First Turkey are absolutely brilliant. They're as good as, and in some respects better, than a lot of other 'popular' MTB locations I've been to around Qld. There's a variety of trail types, and the trails themselves change during the seasons. During summer they're often bedded down and grippy after the rains, during winter they can be dusty and dry. There's green, blue, black, double black trails - something for every type of rider. The club in town are full of really committed and friendly MTBers, who are always willing to give a hand showing visitors around, organising events and social rides, or maintaining the trails. Recent years have seen a lot of new investment in the trails from the council and the government, which is making First Turkey MTB Reserve go from strength to strength. I feel so lucky to have these trails so close, if you are traveling through the region and love to MTB, it's definitely worth dropping in and riding for a couple of days!
