John was a nice enough guy, did a great job of removing the existing dual fan outdoor rangehood, then installing the new 3 fan outdoor rangehood. Only issues were around price, cleanup and assistance.After sending pics and all details of the job, he quoted $575 plus GST then on payment said that price was for an indoor rangehood, outdoor is $750 plus GST. Anyway, we settled that issue and an invoice provided.My biggest gripe is that he comes to do these larger jobs without an off-sider. I had to help remove the old unit, lift up the new unit and assisted in other ways then clean up afterwards and then pay $700 for 3 hours work.As stated, Johns a nice fella but please quote correctly, do a full clean up after yourself (I need to pull the BBQ back out to get all the gyprock that's fallen behind) and lastly, if quoting on larger rangehood, get an off-sider.

Prompt and effective installation of a complicated pendant range hood resulting in a very eye catching addition to our new kitchen

John did a very professional job of installing a new rangehood into my very cramped kitchen space. He listened to my requirements patiently and came up with an easy but effective solution, even going up on the roof to fix a small leak going into the chimney flue itself, and I would definitely recommend him for similar installations, especially if a bit of problem solving is required for a good outcome. Had a rangehood duct installed, the installation itself was good quality, however more care could have been taken to minimise the dust and the clean up afterwards could have been done a little better

John at Custom Installations was the only contractor in North Brisbane who agreed to refurbish our kitchen Rangehood ducting. Delayed during the bad weather but solved the problems. Now all problems solved.Highly recommended.

John was great. We had him install external ducting to our internal reticulation range-hood with the intent to reduce fatty build ups within our new AC system and house in general. Due to the design of our property, it can make installs sometimes difficult. Nothing was a problem in this regard, he gave us a couple of options and pros and cons of each, and then executed on the spot the option we chose. He communicated well, was on time, did a good job, and we feel was well priced.He must have taken the previous review comments onboard, as he did a good clean up job, especially given he had to cut through a brick wall, and even quickly polished up (the already quite dirty) stainless range.The added, and unexpected benefit is the range is substantially quieter!I would highly recommend using John from Custom Installations. We would definitely use him again.
