Initial sales consultation was awesome. GJ Gardner quoting system and sales process is smick!Construction process was a complete head ache all the way.Final product is actually not too bad at all, however things like toilet roll holders and towel rails and door handles are falling off the GJ technician came back to fix this and just filled it up with silicon, fell off again straightaway.Also mold growing in the ceiling where the gyprock was exposed to the elements for a long period of time during construction.Just ensure you've locked in very specific wording in your contract, incredibly skilled at finding loop holes and escapes.Also double the quoted build time for a realistic completion date.

I have been really happy with the service and attention to detail whenever i deal with the GJ Gardner Toowoomba staff. I would be happy to refer any of my family or friends to them.

We recently completed our handover with GJ Gardner Toowoomba Branch. The handover was as disappointing as the whole process, so no surprises there. We had to even pick up our own keys from the office !Initial sales with Anthea was wonderful. Could not faultBut as soon as we signed that contract - our experience was all down hill from there.The Directors / owners were unprofessional and we received many a email which were aggressive and bullying in nature.Contract signed December 2020. Handover December 2022. Numerous excuses given including “ the war in Ukraine “ for delays.So many mistakes and errors and when you pulled them up on mistakes they would find loop holes in the contract or just blame the owners and bully us and not rectify or slap a Band-Aid on it.They put a receptionist in charge of our build as a project manager, minimal site supervision of trades and at times work was sub standard and need to be rectified a number of times such as the slab too big , plumbing not meeting code and needing to be redone.This is our experience and I truly hope that no one ever has to go through this.The directors actually turned this whole experience into a ordeal in which I wish we never started. We felt they were rude, arrogant and unprofessional.

I had always been very proud of the fact that I owned a GJ Gardner home but a month ago I had a house inspection & discovered that my tiled roof needed $2,400 worth of work doing. As my home is less than 20years old l rang Gardner’s to ask if they thought this was a reasonable time for a roof to last,( my previous home is still fine after 50years.)I spoke to one person who said it was beyond the 10 year warranty time so nothing could be done & l said l wasn’t happy & he said l would have to speak to somebody higher up & that he would contact me but never has.As the roof was likely to leak we had to have the work done but had to pay it in instalments as we are pensioners & not rich.A not so happy G J home owner.

Ed and the team at G.J. Gardner helped out with out new built home. From Ed in sales, to Sharon in colour selection, and Lloyd and Cory during construction. The whole team made our build enjoyable and easy to accomplish. We were kept in the loop every step of the way and were able to see the progress of our fairly custom build come together.I can highly recommend these guys, and appreciate all the extra small things they helped us out with, as well as the high quality finished product we received, which at the end of the day, is the most important thing.

We built our home with GJ Gardner one year ago. The initial consultation with the sales rep and colour selection was painless enough, however, dealing with the carpenter (who was terminated by the company mid build), the site manager (who resigned mid build) and the franchise owner was consistently unpleasant and unprofessional. There were mistakes being constantly made during the build with little to no solutions offered. One example, outside area concrete being laid incorrectly with no appropriate solution (or apology) offered. At no stage were we advised when contractors would be on site, which denied us the opportunity to discuss specific requests, as well as allowing errors. Our home was eventually handed over (past agreed handover date) by the receptionist. Neither the site manager nor the owner were bothered to complete the final inspection with us, and to date, we have not received final defects listing with their comments.Since hand over, we have had shower heads fly off the wall, constant leaking taps, the letter box blown out of the ground, peeling paint, water seeping from under the bath etc etc. We were successful with one QBCC complaint where GJ were instructed to rectify a number a defects, and are currently in the process of a second submission with the commission.To add insult to injury, the staff no longer converse with us, and will ‘politely’ ignore all attempts to communicate. The office staff (especially owners) are unprofessional, with inflated egos with no customer service skills.We will never build another home again after our experience with GJ Gardner. I only wish I could leave this review on their social media, but they conveniently don’t offer that as an option.
