Marcelle's Carpentry and Building

Marcelle and her team recently replaced two walls of weatherboards, and installed insulation, on our house and I am very happy with the work. They worked quickly and neatly and were very pleasant to have around. I am happy to provide this recommendation and would not hesitate to contact Marcelle for any further work I need.

Marcelle is a very nice person and it was easy to talk to her. She understood what I wanted from the word go. She was patient with me as I hesitated between one type of cladding and another.The work on the house was carried out quickly, and conscientiously. Her sub contractors (all women) were also very friendly, efficient and quick to do their respective work and the weatherboards looked great. She even did some extra work at the end, installing insulation on a 34 degree day. No knocking off at 3pm, everyday she worked till she had completed what she had wanted to do, regardless of time. Communicated really well, texting all the time - such a change to a lot of trades I've had in the past. I can highly recommend her to anyone who wants a job well done and for the experience to be such a pleasant one.

I contacted Marcelle back in September for a quote. She had posted a request on the internet for small jobs, so I contacted her by email and, at her request, sent photos of the work to be done. This work was to ascertain her skills before contracting for an extension to my home. Covid interrupted the process, but Marcelle said she would quote after lockdown, and thanked me for my patience. December I contacted her again via Messenger, asking when I could expect her to quote - no reply. Between January and March I sent emails, left a message on her business website, left phone messages and left messages on her FB page - again, no replies.Very disappointed that my time has been wasted. Communication skills are non-existent. Impossible to contact. It seems clear that she was not interested in the work, yet was not professional enough to respond to my contact attempts. Avoid this company.

Marcelle's Carpentry and Building, is a five star service.We have had Marcelle carry out works on 3 separate occasions, each time the works were carried out after a visit and quotation. Each job was completed as quoted and on time, the work place was always left clean and tidy. Marcelle has an excellent approach with a “can do” attitude to all the jobs we needed doing at our home. Decking and verandas were replaced and well matched. Marcelle's done some great work on my house, a 1924 California Bungalow. She's fixed up work done by a previous carpenter who wasn't terribly careful, and wanted to do things his way without any consultation or discussion. She's also installed a double-glazed window and a door and reinstated a section of plate rail removed by a previous owner. Whenever there was a possibility of doing things more than one way, Marcelle would always ask what I was looking for; what I wanted it to look like, or how I wanted it to work.I'm doing some (non-carpentry) work myself, which is slowing things down, but Marcelle's accommodating me. She always responds quickly and cheerfully to my emails.I'm pleased to be working with Marcelle, and I'm happy to recommend her.

Marcelle is fabulous. She quoted for the work and then completed it in a timely manner to a very high standard. Marcelle was easy to work with and communicated with me through every step from my initial enquiry through to quotation and then completion of the work. I would highly recommend her and would most definitely use her services again.

We contacted Marcelle more than 2 months ago now for an initial quote, and more recently to proceed with her quote. To be honest, right from the beginning, it was always difficult to get a hold of her. We persisted, and after multiple calls, emails and texts, she would eventually respond. A month ago we contacted her to try proceed with the job (again after multiple attempts to contact her). She advised she would be in touch within two weeks to lock in a start date. It has been a month now, and we are still waiting to hear from her. Very, very disappointed that we have wasted our time and persisted with someone who was very clearly not interested in the work to begin with.

We had a complex verandah revamp come our way that was way beyond our capabilities as a company. We recommended to the client to contact Marcy and her team. They recently called us back and thanked us greatly for the recommendation. Having now seen photos of the job she did, the work was excellent, and while not privy to the exact details of what was done and how, having seen the verandah before it was repaired, I can attest that the workmanship and craft gone into it must have been meticulous and exacting.

Marcelle and her team has done 2 jobs at our home.
