Kirin Restaurant
A super decent Chinese restaurant. Specialized in Shandong cuisine as well as doing a variety of other cuisines. I would say this restaurant is even better than a lot of restaurants back in China. Strongly recommend to those wanna try authentic Chinese food.

I love this place! This is the second time I’ve been, and both have been amazing without fail. The restaurant itself is lovely, busy both times I’ve been (which is always a great sign) and the food is amazing. It’s great to find some Northern Chinese food, as I’ve struggled to get it anywhere else in Hobart. Plenty of options for all tastes - familiar classics and new things to explore. Can’t wait to come back :)

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food and service were fantastic. My only complaint is that the chairs were the worst that I had ever sat on. Maybe they will be comfortable for you. I asked them for an alternative chair but they did not have any. Next time I go I will bring my own chair.

Great food. We had very Western options like beef and black bean, sweet and sour pork etc.. Also had wok fried Asian greens in a garlic sauce, which was excellent. Unfortunately, on this Monday night, the service we had was subpar. Minimal eye contact, very short and to the point, no indication of how long our food would etc.. The resturant was almost empty for context. Would have been 4 stars save for the service.

We came on a usual Saturday night, tables were full but not packed. Dishes took 40 minutes to come, and just as many reviews mentioned, they were very salty and heavy on MSG. Also please do check your bill before paying. They changed us 2 extra dishes we didn’t order and 2 dollars for the takeaway container.

First time to this new restaurant and we are pleasantly surprised with the quality of the foods and the service. The portion size is also very generous. The variety of dishes is amazing. Looking forward to come back for more.

Best Mongolian beef I have had in a decade!! Awesome menu with some old favorites plus some new delights (hello dough drop seafood soup!) Lovely service too. Thank you!

A gem found just 5 minutes from central city.Glad we came to this place for Chinese new year dinner. The Banquet is a smart option for sharing with a group of friends or family. Good price, quality and quantity. Authentic Northern chiness dishes.The only let down was the fried icecream. The pastry was spotted on, however the icecream already melt and absorbed by the pastry when served. When told staff, they were able to offer the alternative in friendly and professional manners.Would come back again.
