The Pearl Eating House
The interior looks new, modern and spacious. Very pleasing to the eyes, however, that's pretty much where it ended. The menu was very limited, I mean for a Chinese restaurant that is.A man greeted us and took us to our table. After providing us with menus they left us waiting for service for a very long time. The same man working at the front desk finally took our order. They were plenty of waitress placing food on the tables, but none of them took orders. One of my biggest peeve when eating at an Asian restaurant is when a dish arrives on the table before the rice and that happened here. The first dish was the deep fried pork. It was a little too salty and I wasn't a fan of their batter and seasoning,The next dish was the pulled chicken with jellyfish. I didn't mind this dish but it lacked any wow factor. It needed some heat to balance the flavours. Then we waited for what seemed forever for our steamed fish to come. We paid approximately $60 for a whole barramundi in soy and shallots. When it came, it was a big disappointment. The soy sauce wasn't tasty and the fish had a weird after taste, although it was very tender.Very disappointed with our first and last experience here.

Nice spot for yum cha if you’re in the area. Classic dishes but nothing super special. They take bookings which is convenient and the venue itself is quite nice.

Good quality Chinese restaurant for dinner time. Slightly expensive. The decor is fantastic but the service is hit and miss.Yum-Cha during the day is quite disappointing. You almost have to chase the trolley ladies for food instead of them coming to you, and the trolleys can sometimes be few and far in between (we waited for 5-10 mins for the first trolley to come around after we arrived at 12:30pm). Service was average but not terrible. The food is quite good, but there are plenty of other Yum-Cha places in the area that deliver just as good a food (if not better), with much better service.

Very nice yumcha , make sure you make a booking . Didn’t get to take photos of dim sum , we ate too quickly ! Bring photo ID as it’s a club .

The food was delicious for both yum cha and dinner, the truffle fried rice is one of my favorites. Reasonable price. Good atmosphere - modern and spacious. Free parking if you are a member. Highly recommended.

Dined here after a recommendation from a friend. Food was good, but it could have been better. Stand-outs were the lobster with ginger and garlic with noodles and the pork spare ribs. Peking duck pancakes were a bit dry. Service was a bit lax. Most restaurants clear your plates after each round. Drinks are ordered separately, at a bar outside the actual restaurant. Parking was ample, which was a saving grace.

8/10 - Good quality and decent portion sizes for the price. The whole club has a modern and refreshing atmosphere and there's plenty of space. The $20 truffle fried rice was fragrant and fluffy and the lemon chicken flesh was super moist while the batter was extra crispy. I am curious about their yum cha selection. The older male host with glasses and grey however was so rude. Super unhelpful and impatient. Even though he's the manager/boss try avoid him if you want to have a good time.

I’m always unsure about dining at a Chinese Restaurant as I have had many bad experiences previously. A friend mentioned about The Pearl in Kogarah and I have absolutely loved their food! The service from the door until the very end was fabulous. The dishes are all handmade - their Pork Dim Sim and Yum Cha alongside their tea pot were absolutely wonderful. I’m so glad that I have found a Chinese Restaurant that I can trust and taste again the original Chinese Cuisine.

Hands down the best place for dim sum that’s close to Hurstville. Prices were very good for the quality of foods! Very big selection, hence they are extremely busy especially on the weekends. Better get here early before 11:30am to get your table. The service is quick and friendly. If you love tofu, definitely get the tofu for dessert, it was so good with the sugar and ginger syrup, just the right amount of sweetness.Highly recommended!!
