The Cipher Room - Newtown

Fantastic experience at The Cipher Room Newtown. We had a great host and chose ‘The Cabin’ which was challenging and definitely a fun experience. Can’t wait to go back. One of the best escape rooms I’ve tried so far !

Did the espionage room with 4 people. This was my first time doing an escape room and it was a great experience. The staff was lovely and hints are available if you are stuck. Everyone had something to do and was able to contribute with a range of puzzles. You get a commemorative pin for completing the room. I have sensory issues and there were no bright or flashing lights in the room I did. The only loud noise was the noise at the start to let you know to open your eyes and I was given warning of this before hand. Staff was extremely nice and accommodating.

We did the Cabin and it is one of our favourite games worldwide. It is decorated fantastically: every inch and also a little bit creepy. The puzzles are unique and well thought out. This is a game you don’t want to miss.

10/10, the BEST escape room I have ever done in my life.I have been to about 30 escape rooms, but this has to be the best - in terms of Production quality, end-to-end service, and the storyline of the escape roo, it could honestly be a set for a movie. Did the cabin, and it made me feel immersed into the story, I had goosebumps at the ending.Loved it.

Great rooms! We did all three rooms today and they were all as good as each other. The puzzles were really clever, theming and immersion spot-on, and stories perfect. If I had to pick I'd say cabin was my favourite but they were all great. Amelia ran all of our games and was a great GM.

UPDATE: Just did The Cabin last night, def one of their easier rooms, start with this room if it's your first time.•••If you're new to escape rooms, definitely give Cipher a try, they've got 3 rooms in their Newtown branch and 2 in St Peters.Their staff are super friendly, very informative and helpful. If you're ever stuck with a puzzle give your game master a shout.We did Espionage and The Marlowe Hotel and gotta say these rooms were one of the best we've done and trust me we've done a lot. Marlowe was their hardest but in my opinion Espionage was harder.Very well designed puzzles that go with the storyline of each room, loved both rooms and will come back for the others.And what's even better is that once you've completed the room, you get a little gift to take home for memories. So start booking and collect them all.

Had an absolute blast! It’s obvious that the designers of these rooms are genuinely passionate about escape rooms. This isn’t some simple ‘cash grab’ because escape rooms are popular.My partner and I completed (a little over time oops) Mr Peppers Toy Shop and it was INCREDIBLE. I don’t want to ruin anything however the style, the theme the thought that went into each and every was incredible. It’s amazing to complete a room that you know had a lot of love and passion put in.Massive thank you to our wonderful Game Master Ben.

Really fun experience!_I loved how many unique details were in the room we picked! (The Cabin) Instead of having walkie-talkies you can communicate to the staff at any time which felt really personal and we appreciated that feature a lot. None of the puzzles felt too far-fetched and they felt rewarding to solve. You also get a cute souvenir for finishing the room! My friends and I will definitely be back to try the other rooms they have to offer. :)

The whole place really sets the vibe! Our group of 8 did the ‘Dr Pepper’s Toy Shop’ room— not only was it challenging but also immersive and interactive!! Highly recommended!

Went to the espionage room and puzzles were challenging but fun and our game master was friendly, engaging and helpful. The room was also clean. Keen to go again and try the other rooms.
