Lynton does an amazing job with the upkeep on this very historical building, has a lovely touch of the past feel and he's full of knowledge don't be afraid to ask of some stories. Lovely yard to walk and also a jetty across the road to watch some of south Eastern Tasmania's best sunsets from

Warm hospitality of a small B&B accommodation, an historical building, antique furniture, a cozy common room with a library and a fireplace - all this makes for a pleasant stay. We booked just one night and when we left next morning I did it with some regret. Usually I treated travel accommodation just as a place to spend a night. Convict Station was different - I would gladly stay there for a few days enjoying the atmosphere of that hospitable guest house and indulging in dolce far niente - just reading books, walking around and fishing.

Wonderful owners at the ideal location to explore this beautiful Tasman peninsula. Happy to help arrange tours. Also sell home canned goods as well as wines. They make fresh bread every morning for breakfast. Definitely recommend this location to all travelers.

This location has quite the opportunity to provide an amazing B&B service that is not being adequately maintained nor is it being presented in an appealing way. The reviews on multiple sites do not accurately reflect the facility yet in saying this, we did not have that much of an issue with our stay, generally speaking. We stayed just the one night in the Garden Room. This property is in a stunning location with extensive historical relevance. The exterior of the property appears to be desperate for basic maintenance, gardening and cleaning. The interior smells musty and smokey. This is most likely attributed to very old carpet, lack of cobweb removal and dusting, old linens and curtains and a host who is clearly a heavy smoker, the smell of which penetrates all rooms. The potential of this property to improve in cleanliness and general appeal is very apparent. It would require minimal investment to improve the property's appeal and have it closer reflect the reviews provided on multiple platforms. Our room was tidy with very old furniture and bedding (most likely matresses too). It was quite dusty with a musty smell to it. There were numerous spiders and cobwebs around. The shower randomly went very hot whilst in it. Almost to scolding point. The bed cover was reminiscent of a thrift shop find that most would only use as outside animal bedding or rags. The sheets were flannelette in summer time and didn't feel clean at all. There was some form of tied up netting hanging over the main bed of the garden room which looked as though it would fall open at any minute and cover the bed occupants in bugs and dust. Most of which were clearly visible whilst laying on the bed. We chose to turn off the lights and just not look up. The experience of staying in a historical location such as this was the main positive from our stay. Would only recommend this location if improvements were made to cleanliness and presentation or the price was lowered. The fresh morning bread and host's historical knowledge of the property and surrounding area were the only 4+ star worthy attributes of our stay here.

Veey comfortable and homely accommodation in a beautiful and quiet location. Our room was impeccably clean and the silence all around was very special. The owners gave us great advice for seeing the area and the breakfast fruit compote was outstanding.
