Shelby Thorn Dog Training

Sharon came out today to meet us and our dog Woody. She was so informative and helpful and has given us great confidence that we can help reduce his anxiety in the car as well as other training tips. Can't recommend highly enough! Really a fantastic service. Thank you.

Shelby is one of the most responsible, reliable and empathetic dog trainers I've ever met. She has a strong passion for animals, their behaviour, development and their care and growth. She offers such extensive support for pet owners and goes out of her way to help them with all their needs and learning. You couldn't ask for a better behaviourist or trainer.

We recently had a training session via zoom (due to lockdown) for our recently adopted kelpie x blue heeler boy. We found Shelby’s explanation of his behaviours and how to help him overcome them really insightful and are looking forward to having some training in person once lockdown is over!

Shelby is absolutely amazing! Caring and passionate, so helpful and supportive. So excited to do some more sessions with her and get our doggies under control.

We started using Shelby Thorn Dog Training when I was pregnant and couldn’t walk my dog Wally as much. Since being home with a newborn, Shelby and Sharon have been absolute lifesavers! They love Wally like their own dogs and have been helping him with his anxiety through training and walks. The level of care they show their clients is fantastic. I couldn't recommend them enough!

We have a 5 month old puppy and we wanted to get some help in ensuring we are doing what we can to make sure he is happy and confident! We had a zoom consult with Shelby and she was great! She was knowledgeable, helpful and a joy to chat to. She has also provided a comprehensive training plan which will allow Sesame and I to continue training together to reach our goals. Thanks for your hard work and can't wait to meet in person for more training when we are allowed to!

We engaged Shelby to help us with some new training strategies for our Boxer. Shelby was incredibly helpful and demonstrated plenty of practical tips and games to assist with training our dog. One of the biggest successes after implementing some of these strategies has been being able to walk with our dog without pulling. It has made a huge difference in our lives and we are able to enjoy our walks once again. I am sure we will be drawing on Shelby's expertise again in the future!

Shelby has been an absolute lifesaver. For both my dog and my family. Shelby was recommended on a dog page and without a doubt I went straight onto her profile a message to her within such a short amount of time I received a response and Shelby came out to our house to meet our beautiful dogs. Shelby has incredible incredible knowledge in terms of animals and behaviour and interaction with the council as well Shelby has guided us through our troubles with the councils with our dogs and through our family in supporting our dog Ziggy the American Staffy. Shelby has gone above and beyond to help and support my family and I cannot recommend her enough she is bright knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. We love Shelby and so does our animals and we have got so much out of every opportunity we’ve had with Shelby and look forward to having her in our lives and Mr Ziggys life for as long as possible.Shelby create a happy life for every dog no matter the circumstances.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience with Shelby Thorn Dog Training. I contacted them and we settled on a date and time a couple weeks ahead and I was over the moon to work with my dog and handle some of her behaviours that have gotten out of control. We confirmed a Saturday 1:30pm appointment.I received a text message the week of, conveying that I was confirmed for my appointment, but instead of 1:30pm, it was 1:30am. I messaged them and double checked with them that we were confirmed for 1:30pm, as discussed several weeks prior. And also notified that their notification system accidentally said 1:30am.
