Connection was all fine and on time for move in, but then only one of the two accounts (Gas and Electricity) would show up online - which also meant I could not set up direct debit. Called them about the online access which they said would be fixed within days. Couple weeks later still no proper access. So I call again and am told that it is being resolved, meanwhile the person on the phone set up my direct debits for me manually and said I was all taken care of. Fast forward a month and I find I still don't have access to my accounts online. Call yet again, and the handling was to delete my online login and reactivate which worked - I could now see my accounts. HOWEVER, first thing I see is an overdue bill. How could this be? I set up direct debit specifically on the phone. I am told that while direct debit was set up, it was not actually chosen as the selected payment method by the person who set them up. Each of the people I spoke to were nice enough and willing to help. But as an organization this company has wasted quite a large amount of my time.

Worst service ever. I've been an Alinta client for 7 months now and they haven't credit my payment 3 times !! I had to waste a lot of my time over the phone to get that fixed. Also last bill doubled the price without previous notification.

If there was a way I could give no stars I would.Switched to energy locals last week (best decision ever I've already had the most incredible experience with them and I wasn't offered any incentives like Alinta they just provided genuine, honest and transparent service!)Alinta however from day 1 before I even moved in I had issue after issue and beginning of Feb 23 I received my qtr bill which was more than triple my prev qtr and immediately disputed it going on a month later I have not received any updates despite calling several time to check on it. Today I received the final bill which is an estimate and so very wrong and this has now also been disputed and sent to be reviewed. I know these things take up to 21 days but the lack of communication and customer service skills from your staff is horrendous. It doesn't take much to reassure customers that you genuinely care and want to help. If your reading this and sitting on the fence - let me save you hours of research - DON'T SIGN UP WITH ALINTA! the reviews don't lie this retailer is horrible and if Canstar actually checked with real customers their rating would reflect how terrible this company is too!

Did you guys see the news in the “A current affair”?This company charged a pensioner over 23,000 dollars electricity bill lolHow can they do that? The elderly almost never use her electricity at all and so scared to use so.. but this company charged her 23,000 and they did not even investigate or question themselves! Where’s the common sense of this company? Remember this company. Don’t transact with em!

Moved to Alinta 2 years ago however my gas account never came across. Rang at least 7 times in the first year and was always told soon". They even offered me "free" expedited service after trying to charge me for it when I had already been waiting over 6 months."

Had no problems with Alinta, Aus company & local call centre .If they estimate your account then you have no access or smart meter. I pay 20c per k/watt for 18 hours & 34 c for 6 hours.

Disgraceful service. Changed from Origin to Alinta (or wanted to). Alinta notified that they have completed this transfer. However Alinta transferred another families gas account to mine (I found this out when I got sent the other families bill) and left mine with Origin (who have also billed me). Alinta will not answer my calls.Highly inefficient company with very poor customer service!

Absolutely woeful company. I was billed for the wrong meter which I alerted Alinta after my first bill. They were very difficult to contact and after months of trying I thought I had my billing issue solved. They emailed me saying I didn't owe anything. Unfortunately, I kept receiving emails and overdue notices, when I alerted them to this, they said not to worry its 'just the computer system'. Now several months later they have sent a collections agency to try collect fund that I don't owe. Please don't use Alinta, its not worth any savings you might make.

Signed up to Alinta based on rates advertised on Victorian Government's Energy Compare website, as my previous retailer had advised of an upcoming gas price increase.Positives:Sign up process was easy and was able to be completed entirely online without the need for phone calls or paper forms as I have experienced with some providers in the past.Negatives:Within the first couple of weeks of signing up I receive an 'Advanced Notice' from Alinta on 23 January advising that Gas Rates would be increasing on the 1 February by approx. 53% to be worse than my previous retailers offer. Whilst this is annoying, I initially gave Alinta the benefit of the doubt that this was just bad timing and they were running behind adjusting their rates as all retailers are subject to price increases. However, upon reviewing rates again on the Energy Compare website the day after reviewing the proposed rates (less than a week out from rate hike), I see that Alinta is still advertising the low rates, meaning despite Alinta being well aware of the rates increasing they are still going to waste people's time by having them sign up only to need to look for another retailer less than a week later or worse yet be unaware of a massive rate hike less than a week after signing up.I will be looking for another retailer.

I love getting 2grand bills, then I get told I owe from every other bill. Even been paying 100$ a week, yet somehow still owe 2k... and no answers. Just rude arrogant responses.
