Steven Teng Music Lessons

I was utterly mesmerized by Steven’s playing at the first concert I attended, and instantly, I pleaded my mum to let me learn with him. Then, Steven became my first violin teacher to lead me into the violin wonderland! His unlimited energy, passion, humour and patience always lighted up my day and the times spent with him were treasured like gold. His strategies are always filled with packets of fun and tedious work never touched my violin strings. He is the best teacher at explaining general knowledge of a piece; It’s like the piece came alive. Steven is a nice, but ever so strict teacher who sets his student’s standards high which consequently ends in high-standard results.I am very thankful that Steven had appeared in my life!

Mr. Teng is a kind and professional teacher. During my experiences with him, I have been enriched with his amazing wealth of knowledge and his profound skill in teaching (and playing) music. I would highly recommend learning under him.

I first came to Steven while looking for a new violin teacher to take me through the HSC Music 2 and extension course this year and have not looked back since. From the very start, Steven’s friendly and compassionate teaching style and ability have greatly developed my love for the violin, truly showing me the importance of a good teacher. His lessons were something I began to look forward to, always giving me the motivation to continually develop the skills gained from the lesson. All lessons are tailored carefully to my needs, yet Steven is always encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone and pushing me to be the best musician I can be. I am so lucky to have had him guide me through my violin journey, and I am keen to see what else we achieve in the future.

I am a mature student of roughly Associate violin level whose technique was sadly lacking. Steven has gently changed my technique and I am playing better than I ever have. He encourages me, takes me seriously and understands when my busy life gets in the way of practice. He gives full attention to me during the lesson and always has a great way of explaining how to improve my playing stylistically or technically. I highly recommend him. He gets results,
