Nice and quiet place to have a quick bite. Staff is wonderful and there is something for everyone. A must try if your in the area.

The Boot Factory
I am a regular customer of the boot factory and really enjoy the food and drinks here. Service and staff are great however the last few times I have dined here, I have waited 40+ minutes for someone to take my order and to receive my coffee. It is obvious that the wait staff are short handed as they are running around like headless chooks!!! They seem to be trying their best however there doesn’t seem to be enough waiters/ front of house staff working. I also have friends who are regulars at the boot factory and they also have the same complaints. I love this cafe as it’s close and convenient for me, however I will have to go elsewhere if this continues.

Had a great brunch at The boot factory… amazing coffee and the food was delicious… attentive staff, a wonderful start to the day!A good place to have brunch before joining the tour around Pentridge Jail.

Lovely building. Friendly staff. Fast service. Great variety of meals served all day. Enjoyed the Avocado, Minted Peas and Poached eggs on multigrain. Hot chocolate is very well made and available in both 50% and 75%.

The Boot Factory is a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal with a strong espresso. Delicious selection on the menu. Love their chilli scramble and mango turmeric twist!Spacious with an industrial chic decor that gives the place character. Prices are reasonable. Staff are awesome, friendly and fast service.Pet friendly which is great for bringing my dog.We've also had our team meeting upstairs here and they were great hosts. Plenty of parking nearby and you can check out the old prison grounds after.

I’ve always been attracted to cafes that have an eclectic theme and The Boot Factory has this in spades.The decor pays homage to the history of ‘The Boot Factory’ which was originally on the site with photos and mementos of times gone by. It’s also decorated with an abundance of unusual homewares, industrial odds and sods and interesting lighting.This cafe is located on the large site of the old Pentridge Prison site amongst one of the most popular growing by suburbs in Melbourne.At midday we secured a table indoors and perused the menu via the QR code which I’m not always a fan of but the photos of the meals was the clincher on what meal I chose.Having lunch with my savvy adult kids meant they pretty much took over the ordering, which made things easier.The 5 of us chose - Big brekky (shared between 2), quesadillas, halloumi burger and I built myself an egg breakfast.Portion sizes were good and flavours amazing. The velvet cake was delectably light and not overly rich. A fine way to finish off the family lunch.Drinks were hot chocolates and lattes, iced chocolate and not sure what the purple drink was but tasted something like a blueberry chai. Very, very nice. There is a water tap at the rear of the cafe so you can fill up your glass at your leisure.Special thank you to the staff who were fast and efficient, polite and friendly.Once you’ve finished your meal, take the time to explore the area l which has an abundance of history and plenty of signage explaining each section of the site.Notes: good access for wheelchairs or those who can’t use stairs. Plus disabled toilet available. I thought parking was going to be challenging but even on a busy sunny Sunday, I found a park quickly. Dietaries can be catered for - just ask the staff for assistance. Takeaway available. Dogs allowed outside. Kids catered for with high chairs and well tho get out menu choices eg. not just nuggets and chips.Keep up the great work team.

Lovely welcoming staff, delicious coffee and food. We both had the mixed mushroom medley on hummus with pita bread, poached egg and a cauliflower and potato hash brown - very very good. Plenty of free iced or room temperature water. Fascinating decor and pictures. Great atmosphere but not too noisy you can’t hear your companions

We had the most delicious meal today at The Boot Factory! I had the medley of mushrooms with hummus and I was advised to order goat cheese too. Helen, our waitress was wonderful. She was friendly and very helpful. My latte coffee was great too,Will definitely be returning in the future.
