We had limited time in Adelaide so arrived quite late in the day but the staff were amazing - friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We really enjoyed our self paced tour of the prison - a mix of old and newer" prison history. We visited on a 38 degree day

Nice well organised museum, everything is in good condition. You can touch the history. And it's perfect place for a picnic near the parking infront museum

I went to Adelaide for the first time for a holiday with my father. We booked the night tour and it did not disappoint. We looked into this tour for awhile and when we got there let’s say it was an amazing experience. The tour guide was lovely, forgot his name but it was an incredible experience in face a night i would never forget. I went into a cell with my dad and use instruments/equipment used to communicate to spirits and we definitely got some communication out of it. Me and my dad took turns of the rod’s (the rods that cross over). We were communicating with a spirit which was crazy, asking it different questions ect. I passed the rods to my dad he asked the spirit if it could show us to where it was standing and as I look over at my dad I saw a woman wearing a bonnet standing right behind him. I honestly couldn’t believe it, I had never seen anything in my life like what I had seen that night. Definitely haunted especially when doors were slamming shut. Overall amazing experience thank you so much for the best night.

Great ghost tour with Allison. She explained a lot of interesting stories about the gaol and the manner of death that fell on many there. While we didn't experience any ghosts on this particular tour, we heard previous ghost experiences. it was a very interesting experience that was made enjoyable by Allison. Thanks

I volunteered here in 2017. After returning to Adelaide in 2018, I messaged the manager to notify her of my availability.Strangely, they got a new manager in. The new manager told me that the previous one never existed and they have no record of her. In fact, they had no record of me volunteering there either.I had only been gone for three months. The management were very bizarre and possibly incompetent.Or maybe I was volunteering with a ghost the entire time?

The lady at the desk should be given 5 stars for helpfulness. The place it self is mostly wheelchair friendly but extremely bumpy and difficult to push

We were so lucky to have Alan as our guide (he does Thursday morning tours). We would never have known the interesting stories and facts about the complex without his guidance. He made the entire experience so captivating!

Very interesting day out. You can take your time to explore and really get a feel for the personal histories of the people who lived, worked and died behind these walls. Great for lovers of history and the macabre.

We done a self guided tour and enjoyed our visit. My son got to do a School holiday activity while I delighted in the old buildings & stonework. My son is 3 and we spent approx 70 minutes here however, you could extend that another hour by reading about the history (something young kids aren't interested in nor will they let you take much time doing so haha)
