I was suffering chest pains and am new to Victoria so I rang around to find a local doctor that bulk billed. I walked to this clinic whilst suffering to keep an appointment I had booked a few hours earlier. I checked in at the receptionist who then informed me that it was my first visit and I needed 100 dollars, which I didn’t have. I explained I was having chest pains and really needed to see a doctor. They turned me away and I walked suffering home. I suffered a heart attack not long after my visit. This is medical neglect and purely monetarily based and motivated practice. I am writing this laying in hospital…. they should be shut down and deregistered!

I was giving my identification details to the assistant girl in Altona North medical group for book an Appointment because I said it’s gonna be my first time! It was fine till the girl said sorry we can not take any new paciente at moment! I asked why and she said because we can not accomodate them! So Is that right?

Altona Medical Group has the worst customer care I've ever experienced. I have visited the practice for over 5 years and did not have any problems until now.Back in November, I was asked to do a test to be submitted externally and was not told that there would be an extra charge for the testing. 2 weeks later, I found an invoiced billed to be from the external pathologist company in my mailbox. I called to clarify if that was something I had to pay as I was not aware and was told by the nurse that that Dr Emma Brown didn't tick the bulk bill box as it should of been bulk billed. They said they would reprint the slip and put it in her office to be redone. I trusted it would be done as it did not seem to be hugely complicated but 1 month later, I received and OVERDUE reminder invoice to my name.I have called several times in the past 3 months to see if there was an update on this slip only to be told that someone will print another copy and put it on her desk and have apparently CC'd the manager, Jenny, so she also aware it needs to be followed up. I have be promised at every call that it will be sorted out either the same day or the next time Emma is in and will be updated once so. I have yet to receive an update and was also told Emma only has a 6 month contract and that she will be leaving at the end of January.It is still ongoing and I believe I have given them many opportunities to get this box reticked only to be disappointed again and again. I asked if there was an option to get another doctor to sign on Emma's behalf as she clearly was ignoring the mistake she has made and was told it was doable if escalated. It has been extremely frustrating that I have to call up and hold them accountable for a mistake one of the doctors have made and was advised to come in to talk to their manager Jenny if I wanted it done. If I was told this sooner, I would not have to wait 3 months and waste my time calling multiple times.I was hoping to have a civil conversation with Jenny regarding this ongoing issue and the outstanding invoices I was told I didn't need to pay, only for her to get defensive and give excuses for the long delay. I only wanted my frustrations to be heard and for her to understand how ridiculous it is for a patient to have to chase up a mistake made by a doctor that can easily be fixed in a couple minutes. Not only did she roll her eyes and cut me off when I was talking to her, she was told she was only made aware a day ago about what has been happening. The miscommunication at this practise is shocking. This practice cannot be trusted to complete such a simple task, how do I trust them with my medical history?This is something they clearly need to work on and something I urge everyone to consider before booking in with one of their services.

Worst medical centre I've ever been too. Everytime I come here the staff are so disorganised, no one wants to help. I need to an echo, they told me to come in 30mins earlier than my original appointment and I'm 30mins passed my original appointment. Not one to complain but this place is just a school for future nurses being trained by people who have no Passion or motivation for their careers.

This practise does not even deserve a 1 star. My daughter presented to Dr Mukesh Haikerwl 2 weeks ago and the service was extremely disappointing. He was rude, abrupt and most importantly he DID NOT listen. We ended up in emergency shortly after our visit as I left there feeling neglected and extremely worried. She did in-fact need urgent medical attention and they confirmed that Dr Mukesh Haikerwl misdiagnosed her and prescribed her antibiotics she did not need. I called the practice and spoke to the general manager voicing my concerns and she asked me to write an email so she could investigate further. I have not had a response and I have attempted to follow up. I would not waste your time going to this incompetent practice.

I want to start by saying that I am a medical receptionist and I understand how difficult the job can be sometimes, however, the receptionists at this practice do the absolute bare minimum and seem to have very little regard for patient care. They act as if they are doing you a massive favour when they speak to you while also seemingly being completely unaware of timeliness for appropriate treatment, urgent result protocol, or even simple patient triage.I had a phone consult with my gp last week as I couldn't walk after a bad fall and was advised reception would email me an xray referral straight away as I needed to find out if my leg was broken. Hours later I still hadn't received my referral so I contacted the receptionist who first couldn't find my name in the system then finally said she would send the referral through when she could. I let her know I needed the referral asap as my partner was only home that day to drive me, it was getting late, and the imaging centre would be closing soon so she said she was sending it 'right now'. Another hour later it finally arrived but the imaging centre was now closed so I couldn't get any xrays done and my partner was unable to take another day off work to drive me since I couldn't walk or drive myself. I then had to wait an extra day to have the imaging done because of the lack of urgency shown by reception. That was just the first bad experience.My gp had advised me during my consult that someone would contact me when my report came in and I could just have the results over the phone without having to book another appointment. Fast forward to a week later and I still hadn't heard from anyone. I called reception to follow it up and was advised my report wasn't there. I told them I had the xray done a week ago so the report would definitely be ready, but the receptionist didn't seem to care and just repeated that it wasn't there. I then had to request that she please follow it up because it was important and she was not happy about this, but agreed saying she would follow it up the next morning.Another day passed and I hadn't heard anything back so I called again and after being asked for my date of birth 5 different times by the receptionist, I was advised that my report still wasn't there. I reiterated that it was done over a week ago and I'm trying to find out if my leg is broken so the report is time sensitive. The receptionist advised me she would chase the report and they would call me when it arrived. I had heard that exact line the day before so I had to insist that she please follow the report up immediately and let me know the outcome of the call. The receptionist acted incredibly put out by this request but agreed to finally do her job and actually chase up the report but she made it very obvious she did not want to do it.An hour later the receptionist called me back and told me they did have the report but my doctor was now on leave so I couldn't get the results until their return on the 5th of May. She did not offer me any alternative doctor or option to get the results, and once again I had to remind her that my leg might be broken and I can't wait another week to find out if it was or not. She was annoyed that I wasn't happy with this offer of appointment and still offered me no other alternative to get the results. At this point I had had enough and I advised her I would have the results followed up somewhere else since she was unwilling to assist me.At no point in time was I offered an apology for the lack of follow up or even concern for the fact that my leg could be broken and untreated for such a long duration of time. Solely because of the reception team here, I will not be returning, which is actually a shame because all the doctors I've seen are fantastic.

I cant recommend this practice highly enough; I went with a infected head wound and the GP and nursing staff were meticulous in their care, worked collaboratively together toward trying different solutions and most of all I really felt like they cared about me. This is what all primary care and general practice should be - I can see why it wins all the awards. Thank you for helping my head to heal

I am recovering from Covid 19. I cannot thank Dr Mukesh, and all at the wonderful staff at the respiratory clinic, enough for the outstanding care I have received. I have been a patient since 2001 and I am most grateful for the standard of medical care my family and I have received here. In addition, recently, when I was quite unwell, I would also like to thank Larry the pharmacist next door and his staff. Melissa at reception also went out of her way to look after me. Practice excellence all round. Thankyou.
