A good spot to spend a few days. Water is available but not to individual sites, no power and only a limited number of sites with enough sunshine for solar power.

Great camping spot.. close to town for groceries and pub.. dog friendly... hot showers for $1 ... clean tidy grounds ... love it highly recommend

It is what it says. A lovely quite camp ground by the weir. There is plenty of room to park, a play ground for the kids & lots of water in the weirWe found a level spot without any issues and there would of be 8 to 10 vans in already.The toilets have toilet paper, doors and flush & the shower, (which I did not use has hot water from what I am lead to believe.)The area was clean and there is a bottle dump & rubbish binsThere is a track to walk in to town so all and all a great free camp. Does have a maximum stay of 7 days.Thank you to the community for making it available.

Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. No tv. Toilets, one ladies and one gents flushing and clean. One shower, one dollar coins, lots of pressure. Ground is dry other than the occasional seasonal storm. All round, camp is great and many thanks to all involved.

Went there in October 2017 and found it to be very clean and tidy place for a stop over while travelling, went back March 2023 and found it was neglected and in need of repairs and paint, toilets, shower, broken play equipment and shade areas. A shame that the council has let it get that way.

Neville Hewitt Weir Camping and Picnic Area
A nice camping spot beside the Dawson River. Was in flood when we were there so plenty of water. It is only a short walk into town from here. Only problem we had was the mosquitoes.
