It’s only fair to state that we had rain throughout our stay, which is never ideal when camping and this no doubt impacted our experience. Bradbury’s Beach campground is great for those on foot or bike as it’s walking distance to a nice little cafe, a well stocked camp and fishing shop, the food store, bottleo, servo, and takeaway. We were two families; one on a powered van site and one non-powered tent site. The amenities are clean and require a swipe card to gain access, showers are on a plentiful 3 minute timer and have hot water. The security guards are nice and do a good job of keeping campsite party noise down for those sleeping. There wasn’t much they could do to stop one of the neighbours partying until 3am on the Thursday before good Friday. The beaches face West and the mainland which means they are on the calm side of Stradbroke Island, and enjoy incredible sunsets. This beach would be ideal for families with young kids but is not a swimming beach as its shallow a long way out and the bottom becomes muddy. It was quite expensive for our family of 5 at $527 for 4 nights, especially as we gave up on the last night to return home early. The cost did include a $49 4X4 permit. Our site was number 12 and right alongside the two commercial bins that service the campground. These were emptied quite early by the noisy truck everyday which did save us any bad smells. However, there was a stagnant creek behind our site which wafted a pong now and then, it also harvested midgies and mozies, so take your Aeroguard. This must also be the water source for the large family of around 15 Curlews that call this campground home so be prepared for their screaming through the night. They will also get into any food left laying around. I’d have to say it was the lack of sleep coupled with the rain that drove us out.

The camp ground was in a superb location and the security staff were friendly and effective. The bathroom facilities were always clean but were old and could do with a refurbishment. It would also be good to have a facility to dump porta potty contents. Great experience and a place we would love to visit again.

facilities are very old, odd location and only book if you are desperate for a place, they have other locations that are much better.

awesome camping spot. unlike most of the camping grounds (amity point) cylinder beach) which are crazy busy and full of people. this place is calm quite and very relaxing. it has flat shaddy areas and the amenities are clean and quality. definitely would recommend. we will be going back.

Bradburys Beach Holiday ParkWe stayed in an eco-tent for three nights. Two adults and two young kids. Overall a great experience. The amenities and facilities are well setup and the gentle shallow beach on the western side of the island was great for the kids. There was also plenty of hot water in the shower, mixed hot and cold and pressure was good. They aren’t deal breakers but there are a few things to be aware of.It’s the nature of the accommodation but they don’t come with a portable stove or pots and pans. Electric hot plate was fine but a pain to clean every time. Not enough dishwashing liquid and toilet paper. Depends on your stay but bring extra.Sliding fly screen doors could do with maintenance as it kept derailing on usage.Noise. Minimal sound insulation and carries at night so be aware of innocuous noise disturbance or complaints from the adjacent neighbour.Stradbroke Flyer. The tranquility and privacy is broken every hour with the service. There’s the Diesel engine and the locals use the beach and the front of the site as a thoroughfare to get to and from their homes and the jetty.
