Best seafood in a long time. They had a seafood charcuterie board that I hadn't seen before. The food was divine. Crispy skin salmon was great and the vegetarian options were good. Lots to chose from with friendly, helpful staff. We will be back.

Really enjoyed The Backyard. I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews but I decided to give it a go myself. I booked with not much notice and they were more than happy to fit me in. Only a 5 minute walk from my hotel and it's in a really central spot. They were quite busy and I now know why. Service was great - my waiter was excellent and a great asset to the Business. Drinks were great - Lemon Drop Meringue can not be beaten! Delicious! Started off with sourdough & garlic butter - was nice and a big serving but the garlic flavour was not very evident. For my Main I chose Chicken Breast with Potato Gnocchi, Pumpkin and Pine Nuts... It was just excellent, could not fault a thing - yum! And then I got convinced into dessert but once again... no regrets! They were donuts with cinnamon sugar and two dipping sauces. One was lemon and one was a sort of cream. Overall had a great night and will definitely visit again next time I am in Cairns. Loved it and I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience and great food! We returned from a fishing charter at 4pm. The team were handed our catch and in the time it took for us to return after a shower, Mel and Rochelle presented us with 5 exceptional dishes. Each dish was perfectly matched to the variety of fish that we caught and tasted absolutely incredible. Thank you for such a personalised and memorable experience!

Fantastic 5 star restaurant at very reasonable pricing. We were looked after by Pearl & Giorgia who were absolutely fantastic and an asset to this Restaurant! Great service with fantastic food with views looking over the Marina. If you're visiting Cairns it's a must to dine here at least once, then like us you're bound to come back!

Celebrated my friend's birthday at the Backyard. A good selection of menu including vegetarian dishes. Overall, the food and drinks are good! The atmosphere is relaxed with a stunning view of the marina. Perfect for large groups and families. Parking is available at Shangrila

What a fantastic lunch! We did the cook your own catch as we had caught several varieties of fish on the cairns reef charter. Wow what a feast of food the catch was turned into. Cannot fault this highly recommend it! Only $29 per person

Lovely place to dine in cairns. Food is very sophisticated and delicious. They also serve vegetarian meals. Friendly staff, always get a bottle of free water, and during happy hour (5-7 pm) beer and wine is half the price! Once we discovered this place, we went tree times. So many delicious meals to try. Definitely recommended

Nice service great food. Love dessert here. Cheesecake and Chocolate fondant were amazing!! BBQ octopus was a bit too soft.
