My Mom's Yangpyeong Haejanggook in Canberra 양평해장국 캔버라 Korean restaurant Dickson
Great customer service. The food comes with a little kimchi and little pickled condiments which was nice. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was great fun. Although, the spicy stir fried pork was a bit dry. The place is a little cosy and it does get a bit noisy but it's okay. Would definitely go again for good quality Korean food.

A cozy and homely Korean restaurant in Dicksons Chinatown. The pork bone stew was up to standard and delicious. The bossam was tender and an unexpected item on the menu but should’ve included some lettuce wraps with it. The fried chicken was also not bad. Overall a good casual option for Korean food!

Personally I think this is the best haejongook place in Canberra. I've been ordering the pork bone soup for about 5 times now and the quality and quantity has been very consistent. The service is quick and friendly. Highly recommend. Also the susage and rice cake stick is really good and filling.

FABULOUS!-Rib hot-potI really love the rib hot-pot in My Mom’s. The beef ribs were tender but chewy as well and the soup was warm and not greasy at all.-Fried chickenFried chicken dishes were crunchy and freshly cooked.-Seafood pancakeThe pancake was quite different from what I had in other Korean restaurants. It was soft and not crunchy but I like it anyways.ServiceEven though we went on a quite busy Monday night, the restaurant was well-managed and service was considerate. The waitresses were nice and helpful. They helped us out on getting the meat from the ribs and cut them into small pieces.

Love the 비빔냉면 (sweet and spicy cold noodle) I had and the vibe of the restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant and taste of the noodles reminds me a lot of Korea, which I visited and loved. Noodles are flavourful, spicy and sweet. It's slightly different to the one I had in Korea, but equally delicious and flavourful! I'd say they are delicious in different ways. The one I had in Korea has a smoother taste with the spices all blended together whereas this one has chunkier chilli flakes and garlic. The side dishes are also very good and flavourful. Love the kimchi. The staff is very kind and friendly. Would definitely come again!

The waiters were friendly, we didnt need to wait long. We ordered a whole boneless spicy chicken & pork bimbimbap. The chicken was more sweet than spicy. They can do much better with the side dish. Those little pickles look really sad & lonely. I normally order these from the one next door, Rogane. The bimbimbap was good. There’s not much pork in it though.

Smallest serving size I have ever seen in a Korean restaurant. Have been to South Korea twice and I am sure this restaurant would be closed overnight ..nobody would visit ..What a disappointment. Oh, they are not cheap either and plus 15% for public holiday makes it ridiculous...To be fair...we only ordered vegetarian dishes...maybe they are generous with their meat dishes?

Great service and venue, let down by the quality of the food.Although, side dishes were amazing,Ingredients in main dishes weren’t up to scratch.Should be more generous with ingredients in terms of quality and quantity.

I have lived in Canberra for 6 years and hand on heart think this is the best Korean soup place in town.I’m quite smitten by this place, not just because the food is so delicious, but also it delivers exactly what it promises - comforting, homestyle Korean food at very reasonable prices.Yangpyeong is a region just outside of Seoul, in South Korea, and haejanggook refers to a bone broth soup.Soup is the specialty here. Most soups are available in small bowls, or large portions to share. The large says that it serves 2-3, but I dare say it’d serve 4-6 if eaten as part of a shared meal. You really shouldn’t skip the pork backbone and potato stew ($48 for a large portion).

This is the worst Korean restaurant I've ever eaten in Canberra. Pork belly is like leftovers from others. Desserts were also very disappointing and did not match the menu at all. The cantaloupe on the menu is ball-like, but actually sliced, and the fruit is messy on the ice cream. There is also a feeling that others have leftovers. Is everyone like this? Or is this restaurant racist? I don't know. All in all, eating at this restaurant is a waste of my money and time
