My personal experience with them as an individual has been nothing short of horrible. They were incredibly responsive pre-sale but after I placed an order for an ek43s and the grinder arrived broken (motor was detached from the stem due to bad shipping), I received conflicting advice from their staff with invariably long response times. Oliver initially told me they were ordering in a replacement but shortly after, the general manager Joanne took over, instead saying that since the package was already signed for, that they had nothing to do with it and all repairs were going to be out of my own pocket. I proceeded to email them about exercising my consumer rights to claim on warranty and I've yet to hear back from them. It's been nearly 2 months since I ordered and paid for a $3,500 grinder for personal use and they've made no effort to carry out this transaction equitably. They maybe good with businesses or cafes with capital to spare but if you're an individual looking to purchase costly equipment, I suggest you steer clear as they have provided me inaccurate advice in order to avoid a fair resolution for the customer.EDIT 30/09/2018, in response to the owner's reply:Hi Joanne,First I would like to say that my reply is likely just intended for you. I don't believe Barista tech's other staff were culpable in the horrible way this was handled. The resolution process was going fine until you got involved.I don't normally engage in online disputes as I've stated countless times, my purpose for reviewing your company is to keep other consumers aware of my negative personal experience with your company, not to deliberately defame your brand. I'm saying my last piece for the sake of all who would read this review. I'll keep it concise;Your first statement already contradicts the very reason why this became a dispute in the first place. Now you are finally throwing your shipping partners under the bus and saying they are indeed at fault. The dispute only began because you initially insisted neither your company nor your shipping partner were at fault.Timely manner? I placed my order on the 24 July 2018! And still, I'm $3,460 short with a broken grinder.This angers me the most. You DID NOT credit me in full and there was no cooperation from your end for a refund. You insisted that I pay for delivery out of my own pocket to send the grinder back to you so you can run me through the gauntlet again of a supposed 'replacement' that was not properly explained to me. At this point any sane customer would not agree to further dealings with such a harrowing experience. The only reason why I'm about to be credited is because American Express reviewed my chargeback case and found you wanting. If it were up to you, I would still be waiting for a proper resolution.Saying I do not respond promptly is a plain mistruth. Fancy accusing me of your own misdoings. I'm an individual, with $3,460 short and an irreparable grinder that you refuse to refund me on. I have every incentive to respond in a quick fashion.Unlike Joanne, I have supporting documents, timelines and email timestamps backing up every statement I've made. If this review is making you think twice about going ahead with a high value transaction and you need further evidence, I'd be happy to share documents of all that's transpired.If a business will not humbly admit to it's wrongdoings and instead make falsified claims against their customers/victims, this must be brought to the public's attention.
