Mat was one of two roofing contractors to reply to our urgent request for roofing repairs. He promptly sent a quote, visited our site, confirmed the work and scheduled a time to begin.Mat turned up on time, was easy to communicate with and explained how he warranty's his work. We are very happy with the work and highly recommend Perth Carpentry and Roofing

Had Mat remove an exterior balcony wall and replace with cladding and metal flashing. He also fitted some metal sheeting on a leaking flat roof.Mat was very responsive and quick to provide a very competitive quote. He was able to source materials and complete the scope with a fast turnaround time (to beat forecasted wet weather). He also provided great suggestions and ideas on options and finishes for the small renovation project.Recommended. Would engage Perth Carpentry and Roofing again.

I engaged All Perth Carpentry & Roofing to build a medium-sized deck in my back yard in May 2019 (also roof repairs - review on roof separate/pending).The deck was constructed of Pine frame and Jarrah boards.Within 2 months of completion, the deck was unusable. All boards had warped or ‘cupped’ such that it was an uncomfortable washboard finish and even dangerous to walk on (board edges raised). Part of the perimeter had subsided/twisted at an angle.I raised this with Mathew – he consulted with his supplier and determined that the board should have been stained underneath to prevent cupping (a quick Google also reveals that this is best practice – and a few other tips that could have been applied). He also tried shifting some responsibility onto myself for choosing Jarrah (no concern raised prior and his website suggests Jarrah…)Mathew refused to pay for any replacement materials (numerous boards irrecoverable) but did offer to provide one-day labor to rectify.. I would have to coat the undersides myself and pay for materials. As this was the only option that could be negotiated, I agreed.Mathew returned to unscrew the board in November. On removing the boards, multiple screws snapped – these would also need replacement at my cost.On closer inspection I confirmed 2 significant items;1. The Stainless screws that I had been Quoted, Invoice and Paid for were in fact, carbon steel.2. The Galvanised steel stirrups that I have also Invoiced/Paid for were missing (Pine post cemented into the earth as a replacement)On raising this with Mathew, his response was ‘So what?’. On me trying to explain the significance of these items being both promised and paid for and required (carbon screws cheaper/lesser quality and post-in-ground will rot) – he hung up on me. All communication was lost – a problem throughout the rectification (I exhausted all mobile numbers I had at my disposal to have Mathew receive my calls and emails are unanswered).As a result, I have needed to engage another contractor to complete the deck at considerable cost.Unfortunately, installing the Galvanised stirrups now is cost-prohibitive – therefore the life of my deck is compromised (perhaps 3-5 year’s life).As a result of the perceived unconscionable conduct, I do not recommend this company.

We were really happy with the work that Mat did in replacing the barge board and tile scribe on three sides of our 1960s house - these areas had been damaged over time by age, weather, and a lack of maintenance in the past. Some areas were in a pretty bad/shonky state but Mat sorted it all out and improved not only the look, but more importantly the integrity and functionality of our roof. His cost was very reasonable and because of this we were able to engage Mat to do some extra work on the gable that we hadn't initially planned, and also some other work in our alfresco area.Another positive for us was that Mat was also able to provide painting as part of the barge / tile scribe replacement quote - this meant that the whole job could be completed at once, and that the areas he fixed could also look finished and new again without us having to engage a separate painter. Mat was also professional to deal with, and kept in touch with us through the course of the job.Thanks for the great work and great price, we'll be in touch in future with more house improvement ideas I'm sure! We called Matt to fix some structural defects on our roof frame. Matt promptly attended our request, inspected the roof frame and provided a thorough inspection/diagnosis of the defects much better that the other contractor who previously did the work unsatisfactorily on our roof.He provided us with a competitive quote to fix the problems which we accepted as we trusted and preferred him to do the remedial work over the others. Mat built a carport at our house in East Victoria Park.The work comprised installation of concrete footings, brickwork, steel beams, roof frame, ceiling, rendering, and roof tiling. All components were completed with exceptional attention to detail and we were very happy with the quality of the work.Mat also organised high quality driveway concreting for us at a competitive price, as well as a quality draftsman.We got several quotes for this job and Mat’s price was the most competitive.
