I didn't get the best service unfortunately.Our car went in late December, where we were told that it would be done by Christmas. Unfortunately the mechanic managed to break a part of the transmission and the car wouldn't be fixed by Christmas, which was fine. Accidents happen. Except February rolled around and we still hadn't received our car back because the mechanic said he was having trouble sourcing the part, which would have been understandable but my husband sourced it while standing infront of the mechanic and order the replacement at our expense. Bit of a head scratcher there but things happen. The mechanic installed the new part and returned the car to us in under a week after receiving the part, which was fantastic but upon driving the car into Kingston and back I ended up broken down on the side of the road... with my children and 2 dogs on a long weekend. The call out fee was astronomical, only to find out that the mechanic hadn't put enough transmission fuild into the car. Which ultimately put the majority of my family in danger and well out of pocket as we broken down on the saddle. The mobile mechanic put more than 4lts of transmission fluid into the car. I am unsure of the level of damage that was sustained by the newly installed transmission. I had, had the car back for less than 24hrs. I had asked the mechanic if the car had been taken for a drive and was ready to go, only to be told that it was perfect and to come back in 1000km for a check up. I appreciate the mechanic fitting us in and such short notice, I appreciate the terrible timing of having car trouble around Christmas, I appreciate the fact that we are all human and mistake can and will be made. However I do not appreciate my family being put in unsafe situations, I do not appreciate having to pay a mobile mechanic to finish I job this mechanic had been paid for and I do not appreciate the lack of critical thinking as we had to source our own part after human error occurred on his side.
