This used to be a favourite of ours however the service, quality and value for money seems to have decreased dramatically. Multiple tables of guests were left cold outside, the menu has been cut and meal sizes have reduced significantly whilst the price has increased. Consider dining else where for the price.

We had a very enjoyable experience at the Blaxland Inn for dinner. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us in making our best dinner choices. We dined with our young baby and they facilitated take away dessert so we could enjoy back at our hotel. Great vibe, friendly staff and relaxed environment.

Lovely venue with lots of space. First waitress that served us was bubbly, welcoming and friendly. Ladies at the front desk are also lovely.Unfortunately the food took 50 mins to arrive and the steak came very over cooked (650g rib eye). When I had mentioned to a male waiter (English? guy) that the steak is over cooked, he asked me to cut the middle of the steak with a dismissive attitude. It was obvious that it was over cooked for medium rare, and even more so the case when I cut in the “middle” afterwards. If you’re going to work in hospitality, it’s important to treat customers kindly and be able to deal with these situations and make customers feel welcome to raise feedback. He did not make us feel that way.Beef short rib was almost cold on the underside, though did have a lovely flavour. However, overpriced for the size ($47).Meatball special was nice but again extremely small in portion size for the price ($26).Overall, the food has a nice flavour when cooked properly. However service from the male waiter could be improved and price is very steep. One more note - the menu prices online are different to the menus provided in restaurant (~10% more expensive).

Having a prime location, doesn't mean it's the greatest place.Prices are insane for what you get. The food is nice, service is a lacking factor. Still waiting for our table water since Easter Sunday. With our group not being given cutlery or water, after asking multiple times, it's not the best experience.Steak and Chips" is not on the menu. Rib Eye

Went to blacksland inn restaurant on Monday may 1st. Food was so tasty and quick to arrive, 2 things I feel it was lacking was there needs to be more butterscotch sauce served with the sticky date, ratio was way off and instead of the massive amount of roasted potatoes you could put half the amount and some type of vegetable eg. carrots or corn on the side. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had (I had the Rib eye) service was great (remember to always tip if you’ve had a good experience) hospitality workers appreciated it a lot.

We had a family lunch here on Sunday 23rd April and the food, drinks and service were outstanding. We were served by Sarah whose service was exceptional. Nothing was a bother and Sarah was attentive and friendly to each person individually in our group. I will definately be back and will be recommending Blaxland Inn too all family and friends visiting the Hunter.

The food is nice but not worth the insane prices. The staff are severely lacking in service skills forgetting basics like cutlery and water. One waitress delivered a plate and simply said steak and chips" with no knowledge of the cut or how it was cooked and had to take it back to check twice! The tables are cheap and uncomfortable. This place is proof that a stunning location doesn't make the restaurant good. Do yourself a favour

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent dining experience here. The staff where very polite and helpful. A nice casual atmosphere and you weren't rushed to eat and leave. Menu was extensive with a great range of on tap beers and the food was delicious and well presented. Highly recommend the beef short rib. Overall a great place and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return.
