Had a quick stop at the campgrounds for a toilet break but it wasn't available for general public.Had a look while in the car and it looked interesting. not sure if you're able to go in though. Like the other places, plenty of flies buzzing about.

Stopped over here whilst visiting the stromatolites, arrived initially thinking it was a strange and random place but left the next day loving it. A peaceful campground with all the required amenities and a friendly owner. Would stop here again.

Fantastic campsite with real Australian and world history.First there were Stromatolites, then Shell rock and with humans came the telegraph.

Hamelin Pool Telegraph Station
The original telegraph station established in the late 1800's when communication around the state was via morse code.Now not part of the modern communications network and located within the Hamelin Pool caravan park, it has been converted to a museum (open and tour at 3pm most days).The museum focus is the telegraphy, the stromatolites nearby and the general exploration history of this part of WA.Well worth a visit especially if staying in the caravan park.

Cool telegraph station built in 1884. There's a cute little caravan park right there, you'll pass through on your way to the stromatolites, but not really worth making a special trip.

When we arrived, the museum was closed so we were unable to go inside so we could only just look around outside. I still enjoyed the look around, just missed the inside this time.

Some old buildings and artefacts from the old telegraph station. Now forms part of a caravan park. Lots of historical information at the Denham discovery centre.

This small post would be the perfect settings for movies set in the past century. It clearly shows how life must have been tough in the past. Most buildings seem to have been left untouched. At the centre of the village there is the telegraph station, but other buildings are interesting as well. It is a perfect spot to park before going to the stromatolites. But note that it can be very hot during the summer!

Really informative tour about the stromatolites and telegraph station. Only $5 per adult and kids were free. Tour was 45mins and even our kids (who are under 10) sat through the videos and talk. They even remembered some of the facts which showed they were engaged. Recommend everyone to do tour and help support this working piece of history.

We stayed 2 nights, was good, quiet and clean, only complaint was whatever they use as ground coverage, it gets everywhere, car floor and Caravan floor covered in it, when you think your picked it all up, you find more.
