This review is for the spa at the resortWe had a lovely experience at the spa at lilianfels!Trudi is just a gem and really makes you feel at home from the second you walk in the door. She was warm, welcoming and professional.The facilities were lovely with a hot sauna and a lovely indoor pool which was great on this drizzly autumn day.My husband and I had our 90 minute couples massages from Jim and Larissa - both very talented! With the massages being a little longer, both of the massage therapists were able to really focus on the areas that needed work and managed to give us both productive and relaxing massages, with our knots melting away along with our stresses.We really enjoyed this experience and will absolutely be back. Jim and Larissa, thank you!

A high tea in Lilianfels is a must for any visit to the Blue Mountains! The staff is always welcoming, attentive and helpful. Our visit this weekend is pleasant as usual, the service is great.The high tea today, again as per previous visits, is fantastic. Every morsel on the platter is exquisitely made, beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. It is the best high tea in NSW!The lounge seating is beautifully decorated, love the nice atmosphere.Please remember to book ahead if planning a visit.

This spa goes beyond the stars...My experience at Lillianfells Spa was met by the most genuine, caring and helpful women. The attentiveness to all my needs surpassed my expectations. Initially booking in over the phone was easy and their delightful manner set my expectations high. And these ladies raised it the minute I arrived. Trudi and Katrina go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, at ease and have such a nurturing and loving spirit. Larissa who became my personal therapist over the three day visit was so incredibly passionate. Each treatment was superior as well as the range of scrumptious organic products.After a weekend with my new spa family I am feeling centred, silky smooth and renewed. Thank you. It was an honour to be cared by each of you and I am eager to return for more! Kathryn

Positive: extremely friendly and professional staff (front desk, housekeeping and restaurant). Location - close to scenic world. Room is large and nice.Average: booked room with view, there is some view but nothing special.Negative: extremely bad soundproofing, probably due to old age of the building. I could hear next door voice, I could hear downstairs housekeeping cleaning noise, I could hear people walking, talking, closing their door outside my room. Didn’t get much sleep as a result. Bathroom need renovation, the water leaks out and is a trip hazard. The tiles moves up due to water leakage, they need to get the waterproofing checked.The hotel has another building separate to the main building, maybe that building will be newer? Might try that next time and see if it is better.

It was an amazing experience staying in this hotel. However, there was one small issue. It would have helped if reception had advised that when you turn the room lights off at night, the power sockets won't work, so my watch and phone died during the night!!

Maybe it was naive to repeat the stay at Lilianfels 27 years after our honeymoon and to expect to be impressed again.The hotel aged with not really any improvement having been done to it since. The Lilianfels nowadays appears to have lost its glamour and is not living up to its 5 stars at all. It is too expensive for what it offers to its guests.A few examples:The pool chairs are not comfortable at all and would need mats on it. There are no mats and so staying at the pool is not a real pleasure.Our waitress tried very hard to offer a good service. Bravo! Nevertheless, obviously her being challenged by too much work, the food arrived to our table being cold. The chips tasted of fish.The teapot at breakfast looked very dirty. As a passionate tea drinker, I realize that a teapot needs quite some intense cleaning to look shiny. In a 5-star hotel I expect this attention to be paid.The 3 sisters are in walking distance which is nice.

I booked a day delegate package for 16 of our team at Lilianfels and we had a lovely day! Such a beautiful space with gorgeous views. Geoffrey and Louise looked after us so well. We headed over to Echos Restaurant for lunch, and that was wonderful also, both the food and the views.We didn't stay overnight.

We had room 13. Feel we had a spiritual visitor in the night. The clock radio that wasn't even on when we went to bed. 3 in the morning started glowing and blinking and fading in and out for 1 hour only. Then returned to being off again. Has anyone else had this experience?

I stayed over the weekend for our babymoon. This was our 5th time staying and sadly the quality of service has dropped over the years. The venue remains beautiful, and I had a spa treatment which was divine. Upon checking in they gave us two complimentary sparkling wine vouchers since we were there to celebrate which was very nice.We ate dinner there both nights. On the second night we couldn’t get any service. Needed to get up from our table several times to fill up our own water glasses and grab salt/pepper. Asked for the bill which never came etc. Just really inattentive, and it was only at about 20% capacity. I feel like we were in a dead zone and no one was looking after us.Had high tea on the Sunday and the service was again really subpar. The tea came with milk already IN the teapots which is absurd - you’d never see that in any decent establishment, milk would normally always come served on the side so the diner can moderate their own milk ratio. As such, the tea was overwhelmingly milky and just tasted like a warm cup of milk. Also no separate strainer etc which you’d get at hydro majestic or QVB Tea Room and really adds to the high tea experience (feels a lot more pedestrian). We really gently asked for new teapots this time with the milk on the side (apologizing because we were embarrassed) and the wait staff (we were served by the managing waiter) was really quite defensive saying this is how it should be served (it’s not) and it became a bit awkward. When the new teapots arrived, we feebishly double checked that the milk on the side was oat milk as we initially ordered, and the wait staff immediately got defensive again saying “you never told us you wanted oat milk!” Again, made us feel very uncomfortable. Oat milk was our original order - at a fine dining five star establishment we shouldn’t have had to re-tell them. Then he flipped on a dime and was like “oh okay it’s oat milk.” And we were like…. Is it though? Or are you just saying that now because the way you reacted it made it seem like it wasn’t? The whole thing was very weird, but we just left it at that out of embarrassment. My partner was also missing an item on his high tea platter compared to mine - we didn’t bother bringing it up because we just felt so uncomfortable by how wait staff had handled things so far and didn’t want to appear difficult. Was also hard to get water refilled throughout and was tough to get their attention.These all sound like little things, and they are, but at a 5 star place paying what you’re paying, you expect service to be smooth, seamless, and work like clockwork. Instead sadly it felt clumsy, defensive and inattentive. Stay at Lilianfels and do a spa treatment, but dine elsewhere. Hydro Majestic is exceptional for high tea and only charges $10 more.

Lovely hotel very friendly staff and free parking for our hire car. Grounds are amazing and great location only a few minutes walk to echopark lookout. Loved the historic pictures of the original house and 1949 menus on the wall. Both indoor and outdoor pools were a good size. Rooms were very large but our window was very small and a large tree interrupted our view. The sister hotel opposite had an amazing restaurant called echoes. The spa was enjoyable but it took me 4 shampoos to get the product out of my hair from the cream. My treatments were over $300 There was no back massage which was disappointing and I felt the body scrub wasn’t exfoliating enough and when the body clay was wiped off with the wet towels, I mentioned that they were too cold, but the therapist just replied, ‘nearly finished’ and continued rather than adding hot water before finishing my second arm and leg.Would definitely recommend the hotel or the sister hotel and the grounds were beautiful cared for. An extra bonus on the clear sky evenings were the stunning stars and Milky Way visable above.
